Playism Games
Playism (stylized as PLAYISM) is an independent video game publisher operated by Active Gaming Media. Playism started as a digital distribution platform for PC games, launched in May 2011. History Playism was launched in May 2011 as a digital distribution platform for PC games. In April 2013, Playism began a project with HAL College of Technology & Design in both Osaka and Nagoya. The project involves students creating games in four-person teams over a period of several months. The games would then be judged by PLAYISM staff, Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya (''Cave Story''), Smoking Wolf (''One Way Heroics''), and members of Nigoro (''La-Mulana''). ''Night in the Woods'' is a 2017 single-player adventure video game. It was developed by Infinite Fall, a studio founded by game designer Alec Holowka and animator/artist Scott Benson, and Secret Lab, an Australian studio, and published by Finji. ''Bright Memory'' (), also known as ''Bright Memory: Episode 1'', is a first-person shooter action video game developed by Chinese-based FYQD Personal Studio. Created by a single developer in his spare time, it was initially released through Steam's Early Access program for Microsoft Windows on 12 January 2019, eventually leaving early access on 25 March 2020. Additionally, the game was released for mobile platforms between 2019 and 2020, as well as for the Xbox Series X/S as one of its launch titles on 10 November 2020. The game follows Mighty Goose, a bounty hunter travelling across the galaxy to defeat the Void King. Development of ''Mighty Goose'' took two years, and overlapped the development of a game called ''Kunai''. Richard Lems worked on the game alone for around half a year, and MP2 Games ported ''Mighty Goose'' to consoles. The team later hired a composer, QA team, and signed with Playism. is a 2019 visual novel social deduction role-playing game developed by Petit Depotto. It was originally released in June 2019 for the PlayStation Vita, and was ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020, with a Windows version released in January 2022. Gameplay This game uses a visual novel role-playing game format mixed with an RNG social deduction game. It is single player and utilizes a timeloop structure to create new situations. Aboard a spaceship, the player and several NPCs must deduce who on board is a Gnosia, an alien-like creature that will kill the regular humans on board. The player works with the NPCs to suss out and nominate the potential Gnosia suspects and put them into cryo-sleep. The player can also be Gnosia, in which case they know the other Gnosia on board and will work together to try to eliminate the humans.
