Paraclinus Grandicomis
''Paraclinus grandicomis'', the horned blenny, is a perciform marine species of labrisomid blenny native to reefs of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is a Benthic fish, benthic fish so it cruises along above the sandy or rocky seabed and foraging for crustaceans. Habitat The horned blenny can be commonly found in shallow waters, between 0 to 3 meters, inhabiting sponges, corals, and sea anemones. Its habitat choice relies on the abundance of food and shelter from predators, that is why it can be observed occupying seabed clams, oysters, shells, and submerged vegetation like mangroves and seagrass. Geographic Distribution The Paraclinus grandicomis inhabits tropical waters that range from South Florida, Southern Florida through the Lesser Antilles. This species dwells in tropical (10-23N) and subtropical (23-35N) climate zones. Physical Description The horned blenny is a brown colored fish covered in pale mottling all over its body and head, Dorsal, anal, and ta ...

Paraclinus Fasciatus
''Paraclinus fasciatus'', the banded blenny, is a species of labrisomid blenny native to the Atlantic Ocean including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea from southern Florida to Venezuela. The banded blenny is a marine organism, meaning it lives in an aquatic environment. This species lives in the vicinity of coral reefs preferring sea grass beds in shallow waters down to . Although they are typically located in shallow waters, their colors camouflage them exceptionally well, leading to them rarely being seen or recognized. They have also been found within floating algae. They are part of the family perciform teleost fishes within the sub order Blenniodei. The suborder blenniodei currently comprises 6 families, 151 genera, and 883 species. The perciform fish lineage is distinguished by its small body size, as well as their coastal and benthic habitats. The banded blenny has a typical lifespan of one year. Taxonomic characteristics ''Paraclinus fasciatus'' is a species w ...

Labrisomid
Labrisomids are small blennioids (blennies), percomorph marine fish belonging to the family Labrisomidae. Found mostly in the tropical Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, the family contains about 110 species in 15 genera. Stockier than the average blenny, labrisomids are elongated nonetheless; their dorsal fin spines outnumber soft rays (which may be absent altogether), and their pelvic fins are long and slender. Like many other blennies, labrisomids have whisker-like structures called cirri on their heads and napes. Scales may be cycloid or absent in labrisomids; many species are brightly coloured. The hairy blenny (''Labrisomus nuchipinnis'') is the largest species at 23 cm in length; most are far smaller. Generally staying within shallow coastal regions to depths around 10 m, labrisomids are benthic fish spending most of their time on or near the bottom. Both sandy and rocky substrates are frequented, sometimes at reefs or amongst beds of seagrass. Labrisomids are shy fish a ...
