National Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament is the conference tournament for the NCHC. The winner of the tournament received an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament which has occurred every year the NCHC has been in existence, with the exception of 2011. The tournament is a successor to the CCHA Tournament which was discontinued after the conference dissolved due to the major realignment of ice hockey conferences that culminated in 2013–14. The inaugural tournament was held in 2014 and included all 8 member teams in a three-round championship. CCHA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The CCHA Tournament is the conference tournament for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), an NCAA Division I men's ice hockey conference that originally operated from 1971 to 2013 and has been revived effective in 2021. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The winner of the tournament also receives the Mason Cup, which was first presented in 2001. In other years, the trophy was known as the CCHA Tournament Championship Trophy. The tournament was first held in 1972, the first year of conference play. It was held at The Arena in St. Louis, Missouri from 1972–77. From 1978–81, the CCHA Tournament was held at the rink of the higher seed. University Of North Dakota Men's Ice Hockey
The North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey team (UND) is the college ice hockey team at the Grand Forks campus of the University of North Dakota. They are members of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I ice hockey. North Dakota is widely regarded as a premier college hockey school and has one of the most storied programs in NCAA history. Denver Pioneers Men's Ice Hockey
The Denver Pioneers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Denver. The Pioneers are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). They play at Magness Arena in Denver, Colorado. The Pioneers are tied with Michigan for the most all-time NCAA National Hockey Championships with nine (1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1969, 2004, 2005, 2017, 2022). Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. The 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 2013 and ended with the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game in April 2014. Pat Ferschweiler
Pat Ferschweiler (born February 20, 1970) is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach for the Western Michigan Broncos. Playing career Ferschweiler began his collegiate career with the Western Michigan Broncos in 1990, having previously played for the Rochester Mustangs of the USHL. He had a strong first season with the Broncos, registering 20 points in 42 games during the 1990-91 season. The following season was a successful one for Ferschweiler, as he was named the Best Defensive Forward in the CCHA, despite scoring at over a point-per-game rate. Brett Larson (ice Hockey)
Brett Larson is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He is the current head coach of St. Cloud State, having been named to the position in April 2018. Playing career After being drafted out of high school, Larson waited a year before beginning his college career at Minnesota–Duluth. In his freshman season he scored only three points in 26 games for a middling team. The following year the Bulldogs rocketed up the standings, winning the WCHA and making the NCAA tournament. In his junior season Larson was given a great role with the team and responded by posting more than quintuple his previous season's total. Despite this Duluth dropped to 7th in the WCHA and stayed there for the rest of Larson's college career. Brad Berry
Bradley L. Berry (born April 1, 1965) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 241 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota North Stars, and Dallas Stars. He is currently the head coach for the University of North Dakota of the NCAA Division I NCHC. Playing career Berry joined the then Fighting Sioux in 1983, playing in a limited role in his first season. For his second year with North Dakota Berry saw his points total more than triple and was included on Canada's world junior team that won a gold medal. Unfortunately the Fighting Sioux slipped to fourth place in the standings and weren't able to earn a bid into the NCAA tournament. Enrico Blasi
Enrico Blasi (born February 16, 1972) is an American hockey coach, former player and athletics administrator who currently serves as head coach at the University of St. Thomas. Blasi was previously the head coach for the Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team, a position he occupied from 1999 until his firing in 2019. Life and career Blasi is a native of Weston, Ontario. He is an alumnus of Miami University and played for the hockey team from 1990–94, playing on Miami's CCHA championship team in 1992–93 and captaining the 1993–94 team. James Peter Montgomery (born June 30, 1969) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. Bob Motzko
Robert Giles Motzko (born March 27, 1961) is the head coach of the University of Minnesota men's hockey team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he had previously served as Assistant Coach in 2001–05. He was previously the head coach of the St. Cloud State Huskies from 2005 to 2018. During his time at SCSU, he was named the WCHA Coach of the Year in 2006 and again in 2007.
