Brett Larson (ice Hockey)
Brett Larson is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He is the current head coach of St. Cloud State, having been named to the position in April 2018. Playing career After being drafted out of high school, Larson waited a year before beginning his college career at Minnesota–Duluth. In his freshman season he scored only three points in 26 games for a middling team. The following year the Bulldogs rocketed up the standings, winning the WCHA and making the NCAA tournament. In his junior season Larson was given a great role with the team and responded by posting more than quintuple his previous season's total. Despite this Duluth dropped to 7th in the WCHA and stayed there for the rest of Larson's college career. After graduating Larson embarked on a long career that was spent mostly in the minor leagues in North America. The Minnesota Blue Ox were a professional roller hockey team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States that played in Roller Hockey International. History Formed in the wake of the Minnesota Arctic Blast, who played at Target Center in 1994, the Blue Ox joined RHI and were placed in the five-team Central Division ( Buffalo Stampede, Chicago Cheetahs, Detroit Motor City Mustangs, St. Louis Vipers). After a 13-11-0 regular season (second in the Central), Minnesota was the fourth-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. DEL2 (also known as DEL II) is the second tier ice hockey league in Germany, below the '' Deutsche Eishockey Liga'' (DEL) and ahead of the '' Oberliga''. Founded in 2013 to replace the defunct '' 2nd Bundesliga'', DEL2 is administered by ESBG, under licence from DEB. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. List Of Herb Brooks Coach Of The Year
The Herb Brooks Coach of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference regular season to the best coach in the conference as voted by the coaches of each NCHC team. The Coach of the Year was first awarded in 2014 and is a successor to the CCHA Coach of the Year which was discontinued after the conference dissolved due to the 2013–14 NCAA conference realignment. It is named in honor of Herb Brooks who, though having died ten years prior to the NCHC beginning play, coached founding member St. Cloud State for one season. He is more famously known for coaching Minnesota to their first three national championships in the 1970s as well as leading Team USA to the 1980 gold medal. The Ohio State Buckeyes men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I college ice hockey program that represents Ohio State University. The Buckeyes are a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Sioux City Musketeers are a junior ice hockey team playing in the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The Musketeers' home ice is Tyson Events Center. The team was founded in 1972, and has won three Anderson Cups as the regular season champion, and four Clark Cups as the playoffs champion of the USHL.
