Kandinsky Prize
The Kandinsky Prize, named after Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky is an award sponsored by the Deutsche Bank AG and the Art Chronika Culture Foundation. It was organized in hopes of developing Russian contemporary art, and to reinforce the status of Russian art within the world. In total, 55,000 euros are awarded to the artists. It was first given out on December 4, 2007, hosted at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center in Moscow. Four awards were given. The Young Artist Category is awarded to an artist under 30 and they receive a three months stay in Villa Romana. New Media Project of the year is awarded 10,000 euros. Artist of the Year is awarded 40,000 euros. Audience's Prize is awarded 5,000 euros. The award has been evolving over the years. AES+F
AES+F is a collective of four Russian artists: Tatiana Arzamasova (born 1955), Lev Evzovich (born 1958), Evgeny Svyatsky (born 1957), and Vladimir Fridkes (born 1956). It was first formed as AES Group in 1987 by Arzamasova, Evzovich, and Svyatsky, becoming AES+F when Fridkes joined in 1995. The collective works in photography, video, installation, and animation, as well as more traditional media, such as painting, drawing, and sculpture. AES+F's early work included performance, installation, painting, and illustration. Sergey Chilikov
Sergey Chilikov (russian: Сергей Геннадьевич Чиликов) (born 1953 in Kilemary, Mari ASSR; died June 21, 2020, Yoshkar-Ola, Republic of Mari El) was a Russian photographer. Chilikov graduated from the philosophical faculty with a Ph.D. Until 1991, he had been teaching in the universities of Yoshkar-Ola. In 1993, he published his first book on analytical philosophy titled “Artseg. The Owner of a Thing or Ontology of Subjectiveness”. Chilikov started as a photographer in 1976 in the creative group “The Fact” (Chilikov, Mikhailov, Evlampiev, Likhosherst, Voetskiy). Aidan Salakhova
Aidan Salahova ( az, Aydan Tair qızı Salahova; born March 25, 1964) is an Azerbaijani and Russian artist, gallerist and public person. In 1992 she founded the Aidan Gallery in Moscow. Salahova's works can be found in many private and state collections including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Ekaterina Cultural Foundation, Francois Pinault Foundation, Teutloff Museum and the Boghossian Foundation; in private collections of I. Irina Isayevna Nakhova (russian: Ирина Исаевна Нахова; born 1955 in Moscow) is a Russian artist. Her father, Isai Nakhov, is a philologist. At 14 years old her mother took her to Victor Pivovarov's Atelier. Pivovarov played an important role in her life and later became her mentor.
