Iowa Barnstormers Seasons
This is a list of seasons completed by the Iowa Barnstormers. The Barnstormers are a professional indoor football franchise of the Indoor Football League (IFL), based in Des Moines, Iowa. The team was established in 1995, and the original franchise became the New York Dragons after the 2000 season. Prior to relocating, the Barnstormers competed in ArenaBowl X and ArenaBowl XI and lost both contests. Iowa was awarded a franchise in arenafootball2 (AF2), the AFL's developmental league, assuming the history of the original franchise. The Barnstormers competed in the 2001 season, but ceased operations following that season. After a seven-year period of inactivity, the Barnstormers returned in 2008 after AF2 approved the sale of the team to new ownership. In 2010, after the AFL resumed operations following a year-long hiatus, the Barnstormers returned to AFL competition. The Barnstormers moved to the IFL for the 2015 season. The Iowa Barnstormers are a professional indoor American football, indoor football team based in Des Moines, Iowa. They are currently members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). They play their home games at Wells Fargo Arena (Des Moines, Iowa), Wells Fargo Arena, known in indoor football circles as "The Well". Several teams called the Iowa Barnstormers have played in different indoor football leagues since 1995. The original Arena Football League team played in Des Moines' Veterans Memorial Auditorium (Des Moines), Veterans Memorial Auditorium from 1995 to 2001, and subsequently relocated to Uniondale, New York, where they were known as the New York Dragons. Des Moines was awarded a franchise in the developmental AF2 league in 2001 that carried on the Barnstormers name and branding, but the team suspended operations after the end of the season. Indiana Firebirds
The Indiana Firebirds were a team in the Arena Football League. The team was based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Home games were played at the Conseco Fieldhouse, also the home of the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association and Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association. History Albany Firebirds (1990–2000) The team was founded in Albany, New York as the Albany Firebirds, and played in Albany from 1990 to 2000. At that time, home games were played at the Knickerbocker Arena (now known as the MVP Arena). The team's original ownership group was headed by Joe O'Hara, owner of the Continental Basketball Association's Albany Patroons, who would later become the AFL's second commissioner. 2014 Iowa Barnstormers Season
The Iowa Barnstormers season was the 14th season for the franchise, and their tenth in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Mike Hohensee and played their home games at the Wells Fargo Arena. The Barnstormers lost their last six games of the season, and failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, finishing with a 6–12 record. The Iowa Barnstormers season was the 12th season for the franchise, and the eighth in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Mike Hohensee. The Barnstormers played their home games at Wells Fargo Arena. The Barnstormers finished the season 7–11 and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Iowa Barnstormers season was the 11th season for the franchise, and the 7th in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by J. T. Smith, who took over as interim head coach on May 17 after John Gregory resigned. The Barnstormers played their home games at Wells Fargo Arena. The 2010 Iowa Barnstormers season was the 10th season for the franchise, and the sixth in the Arena Football League, after three total seasons from 2001–2009 in the AF2, which dissolved following the 2009 season. The team was coached by John Gregory and played their home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Manchester Wolves
The Manchester Wolves were a professional arena football team, based at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, which folded at the end of the 2009 season along with the rest of the league. They played in the East Division of the American Conference of the AF2 league, which was the minor league of the Arena Football League. Nashville Kats
The Nashville Kats were an Arena Football League team, located in Nashville, Tennessee. They were last coached by Pat Sperduto, who coached the team's original incarnation to two ArenaBowl appearances prior to the original franchise's move to Atlanta in 2002 (then becoming the Georgia Force).
