HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Ice hockey in Sweden, Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and also participates in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Between 2008 and 2013, HV also participated in the European Trophy tournament. With the exception of a one-year stint in the 2021–22 season in Sweden's second tier, HockeyAllsvenskan, where they won the promotion playoffs, the club has played continuously in the SHL since 1986. 2008–09 Champions Hockey League
The 2008–09 Champions Hockey League was the only season of the Champions Hockey League (2008–09), an IIHF-organized ice hockey tournament for the best club teams in Europe. The season was played with 12 teams from seven countries (two teams each from Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland, one team each from Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia and a 12th team from one of these three countries, determined in a qualification tournament). Every participating team was guaranteed an appearance fee of 300,000 euro and the winner received 1,000,000 euro. Prize money was also be awarded for winning group stage matches (50,000 euro), for the semi-final appearance (200,000 euro) and for the other finalist (500,000 euro). In total, 10 million euros were distributed, the largest prize sum ever in a European hockey club competition. Brynäs IF
Brynäs IF is a Swedish ice hockey team from Gävle. The club currently plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden. The club has played in the top-tier league since 1960, longer than any other team. History Brynäs IF was formed by Nils Norin, Ferdinand Blomkvist, and Thure Ternström on 12 May 1912 and began to play ice hockey in 1939. The IF Malmö Redhawks (colloquially referred to simply as Malmö or by past abbreviation MIF) is a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Malmö which plays in the SHL, with Malmö Arena as the venue for home games. Djurgårdens IF Ishockeyförening – commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Hockey, Djurgården () – is a professional ice hockey team based in Stockholm, Sweden, affiliated with the Djurgårdens IF umbrella organization. Djurgården is currently playing in the Swedish second tier ice hockey league, the HockeyAllsvenskan. The J18 Region (Elit until-2020) is the highest level of under-18 ice hockey in Sweden. The league was first played in the 1980 season. Färjestad BK has won the most league titles, with seven. The league is divided into four divisions, Norra (North), Södra (South), Västra (West), and Östra (East). These divisions are played from September to December during the year. The five best teams from each division qualify for the Winter series known as J18 Allsvenskan, divided into Norra and Södra, while the remaining teams have to play in a continuation series during Winter for their specific division. J20 SuperElit
J20 Nationell is a junior ice hockey league composed of 20 teams in Sweden. Previously known as the J20 SuperElit, it is the highest-level junior ice hockey league in Sweden. The teams are divided in two groups, or divisions, ''Norra'' (North) and ''Södra'' (South), and are usually associated with a professional team in either the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) or HockeyAllsvenskan in order to develop talented youth for the professional teams. The winning team of the J20 Nationell playoffs is awarded the Anton Cup. Game format Each J20 Nationell game is an ice hockey game played between two teams and is 60 minutes long. Kinnarps Arena
The Husqvarna Garden, formerly Kinnarps Arena, is an indoor arena, primarily an ice hockey venue, in Jönköping, Sweden. History The arena, which is located in the Rosenlund district of Jönköping, was built between September 1999 and September 2000. It was literally built around and on top of the old arena Rosenlundshallen while HV71 was still playing their regular season games. Kinnarps Arena was designed by Flensborns arkitektkontor and Skanska as contractor, with Kinnarps AB financing the project. Future proprietor and owner of the arena is HV71 Fastighets AB, a subsidiary to HV71. HV71 played its first Swedish Elite League game inside the arena on 26 September 2000, defeating Luleå HF, 6–4. Husqvarna IF
Husqvarna IF is a sports club in Huskvarna, Sweden. It was founded on 22 September 1904. It supported clubs in various sports, including bandy, football, and ice hockey. The ice hockey section merged with Vätterstads IK in 1971 to form Huskvarna/Vätterstads IF, though the club was soon thereafter renamed to HV71.
