Vätterstads IK is a former Swedish ice hockey club from Jönköping. The club was formed in mid 1967 as a merger of IK Stefa and Vättersnäs IF. The club played its home games in Rosenlundshallen, which later was HV71's arena for a period. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and also participates in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Between 2008 and 2013, HV also participated in the European Trophy tournament. Husqvarna IF is a sports club in Huskvarna, Sweden. It was founded on 22 September 1904. It supported clubs in various sports, including bandy, football, and ice hockey. The ice hockey section merged with Vätterstads IK in 1971 to form Huskvarna/Vätterstads IF, though the club was soon thereafter renamed to HV71.
