Córdoba Central Railway
The Córdoba Central Railway (CCR) (in Spanish: Ferrocarril Central Córdoba) was a British-owned railway company, founded in 1887, that operated a railway network in Argentina which extended from Buenos Aires, north west via Rosario and Córdoba, to Tucumán. Financial problems forced the sale of the company to the Government of Argentina in 1938. When railways were nationalized in 1948 the CC became part of Belgrano Railway. Rosario Central Córdoba Railway Station
Rosario (Central Córdoba) is a railway station in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located at the junction of 27 de Febrero Boulevard and Juan Manuel de Rosas St., south of the city center. The station was part of the Córdoba Central Railway (then added to General Manuel Belgrano Railway, Belgrano Railway network). Closed for passenger services since 1952, it was operated by freight rail transport company Belgrano Cargas y Logística, Trenes Argentinos Cargas until 2015. General Manuel Belgrano Railway
The General Manuel Belgrano Railway (FCGMB) (Spanish: Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano), named after the Argentine politician and military leader Manuel Belgrano, is a railway and the longest of the Argentine system. It was one of the six State-owned Argentine railway companies formed after President Juan Perón's nationalisation of the railway network in 1948. Río Primero
The Primero River ( es, Río Primero, 'First River'), also known as Suquía (the name used by the Comechingones, the indigenous people), runs through the city of Córdoba, Argentina. The tributaries of the Primero (mainly the San Roque and Cosquín rivers) flow into the San Roque Reservoir; from there, the Primero goes east into the plains surrounding the city of Córdoba. Once inside the city, the river channels into '' La Cañada'', a waterway delineated by a stonework canal built through the downtown area, and inaugurated in 1944. Cruz Del Eje
Cruz del Eje is a city in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. It had about 30,000 inhabitants at the . It is the head town of the department of the same name, which has a population of about 52,000. The area of the city was originally inhabited by Comechingón aboriginals, which were thoroughly displaced or exterminated by the Spanish conquistadores by the end of the 17th century. The first official owner of the lands was Francisco de Baigorri, as recorded on September 22, 1735, which is taken as the foundation date of the city. The settlement was linked by a road to the provincial capital, Córdoba, in 1878, and it was declared a municipality on May 8, 1890; at the time it had about 4,000 inhabitants. On the latter year the train station was also opened. Cruz del Eje's position as a railroad node would lead to a rapid growth in importance; the railway workshops were dismantled in the 1970s. The Argentine North Western Railway (ANW) (in Spanish: Ferrocarril Noroeste Argentino) was a British-owned railway company, founded in 1886, that operated a railway network in the Tucumán Province of Argentina. The company was sold to the British-owned Córdoba Central Railway (CC) in 1899. History The company was founded in 1886 to acquire a concession, granted to Samuel Kelton in 1885 by the provincial government of Tucumán, for the construction of a 142-km line from Tucumán south to La Madrid, and for the building of 35 km of branch lines, including one from Concepción to Medinas, in the sugar growing region of the province. The line from Tucumán to La Madrid was completed in September 1889. It would be also known ''El Provincial'' due to it only run within Tucumán Province. San Francisco, Córdoba
San Francisco is a city located at the far east border of the province of Córdoba, Argentina, and parts of the city are beyond the border into the province of Santa Fe. In the city National Routes 19 and 158 intersect. It is the fourth most populated city in the province of Córdoba, with about 59,000 inhabitants, and the head city of the San Justo Department. San Francisco is located on Cordoba and Santa Fe's provincial borders. The city is also located in a geographic depression.
