Cécile Hane
Cécile Hane (born October 8, 1987) is a Senegalese judoka, who played for the half-middleweight category. Hane represented Senegal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's half-middleweight class (63 kg). She lost the first preliminary round match to Venezuela's Ysis Barreto, who successfully scored an ippon (full point) and a seoi nage is a shoulder throw, one of the traditional forty throws of Judo as developed by Jigoro Kano. Judo At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's 63 Kg
The women's 63 kg (also known as ''light-middleweight'') tournament in the judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held on August 11 at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium. A total of 25 women competed in this event, limited to jūdōka with a body weight of less than 63 kilograms. Preliminary rounds started at 12:00 Noon CST. Repechage finals, semifinals, bouts for bronze medals and the final were held at 18:00pm CST. This event was the median of the women's judo weight classes, limiting competitors to a maximum of 63 kilograms of body mass. Like all other judo events, bouts lasted five minutes. If the bout was still tied at the end, it was extended for another five-minute, sudden-death period; if neither judoka scored during that period, the match is decided by the judges. Ysis (Isis) Lenis Barreto Rodríguez (born 27 March 1980 in Caracas) is a judoka from Venezuela. Early and personal life Barreto was born in Caracas and began judo when she was 13 years old. She is member of Judo Anzoátegui club in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, Barcelona (Venezuela) After the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she wanted to retire, but decided against it. Ippon
is the highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon-wazari'' contest, usually kendo, judo, karate or jujitsu. In Judo In Judo, an ippon may be scored for a throw, a pin, a choke or a jointlock. For throws, the four criteria to grant an ippon are: speed, force, landing on the back and skilful control until the end of the landing. is a shoulder throw, one of the traditional forty throws of Judo as developed by Jigoro Kano. It belongs to the first group, Dai Ikkyo, of the traditional throwing list, Gokyo (no waza), of Kodokan Judo. It is also part of the current 67 Throws of Kodokan Judo. It is classified as a hand technique, te-waza, and is the second throw performed in the Nage-no-kata. Variations The specific techniques of morote-seoi-nage (two hands seoi-nage), or eri-seoi, are usually generalised as simply seoi-nage. The distinctive technical aspect of this classification is that tori (the one executing the technique) grips with their two hands, as opposed to Ippon Seoi Nage, in which only one hand remains gripping while the other slides under uke's (the one receiving the technique) armpit.
