Czesław Zajac
Czesław Zajac (born July 12, 1968) is a Polish former footballer. Playing career Zajac began his professional career in his native Poland in the Ekstraklasa with Pogoń Szczecin in 1992. After appearing in only 2 matches, he signed with Dąb Dębno, a club which mostly featured in the lower leagues. In 1996, he went abroad to Canada and signed with Oakville Canadian Westerns of the Canadian National Soccer League. He reached the playoffs with Oakville by finishing fourth in the league standings. He featured in the semi-final match against Toronto Italia, but unfortunately were eliminated by the eventual playoff champions by a score of 5-4 goals on aggregate. In April 1997, he signed with the newly expanded franchise Toronto Lynx of the USL A-League. His signing was announced in a press conference which revealed the team roster. Duszniki-Zdrój (; cs, Dušníky; german: Bad Reinerz), often simplified to Duszniki, is a spa town in Kłodzko Valley and Kłodzko County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in southwestern Poland. As of December 2021, the town has a population of 4,329. Situated on the Bystrzyca River, it attracts tourists from Poland and around the world. History The settlement was mentioned in 1324. It was granted town rights in 1346. Until 1595 it remained in private hands. A trade route connecting Silesia and Bohemia ran through the town, contributing to its development. The Open Canada Cup was an annual knock-out cup competition in Canadian Soccer. The competition was first held during the 1998 season as the CPSL League Cup. Marcel Dominik Zajac (born April 29, 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for League1 Ontario club Vaughan Azzurri. Early life Zajac was born in Toronto to Polish parents, and later moved to Mississauga at age three. He began playing soccer at age six with local club Erin Mills SC. Afterwards, he joined the Sigma FC academy. College career In 2016, Zajac began attending the University of Akron, where he played for the men's soccer team on a scholarship. He scored his first collegiate goal on October 7, 2017 against the Buffalo Bulls. In 2018, he helped Akron win the Mid-American Conference title and was named MAC tournament MVP, as well as finishing as runner-ups for the NCAA National Tournament.
