Cycling At The 2016 Summer Paralympics – Men's Individual Pursuit B
The Men's Individual Pursuit B track cycling event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics took place on September 8. This class is for blind and visually impaired cyclists riding with a sighted pilot. Sixteen pairs from 11 different nations compete. The competition will begin with eight head to head races between the 16 riders. These races were held over a 4000m course and each rider is given a time for their race. The fastest two riders are advanced to the gold medal final whilst the third and fourth fastest times race it out for the bronze. The medal finals are held on the same day as the heats. Rio Olympic Velodrome
The Rio Olympic Velodrome, officially the Velódromo Municipal do Rio (''Rio Municipal Velodrome''), is a velodrome located in the Barra Olympic Park sports complex in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built as a replacement for the former Barra Velodrome, the venue hosted track cycling events during the 2016 Summer Olympics, and is scheduled to host track cycling events during the 2016 Summer Paralympics. After the conclusion of the games, the velodrome will form part of the Olympic Training Center. Design The Rio Olympic Velodrome was designed by Schuermann Architects, a German design group led by Ralph Schuermann. David Edwards (born 21 April 1993) is an Australian cyclist, who has found sporting success both individually and in tandem cycling. He piloted Kieran Modra in tandem cycling. He made his Paralympic debut at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Personal Edwards was born in Alice Springs, NT on 21 April 1993. He grew up in Townsville and Tolga, QLD and attended Atherton State High School. He is a graduate of Griffith University, having studied and completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science.
