Curtis M. Scott
Curtis Matthew Scott (September 6, 1960 – August 19, 1992) was a software architect and board game designer known for his work on approximately thirty role-playing games and books primarily focused on Dungeons and Dragons. He attended the University of New Orleans and Carnegie Mellon University, received his master's in computer science during which time he published works contributing to the field of software. Scott was accepted to the PhD program in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University just prior to his death on August 19, 1992, at the age of 31. GURPS Grimoire
''Grimoire'' is a sourcebook for the ''GURPS'' role-playing game system. It is a companion volume for the third edition ''GURPS Magic'' supplement. Its contents were merged into the 4th edition. Contents ''GURPS Grimoire'' has around four hundred new spells and introduces two new Colleges, Gate and Tech. It also doubles the number of elixirs available to the alchemist. Publication history ''GURPS Grimoire'' was written by Daniel U. Thibault and S. John Ross, and published by Steve Jackson Games. Most of its contents are also included in the fourth edition of ''GURPS Magic'', but for players sticking to the Third Edition it still is useful, especially for its updated flowcharts including spell prerequisites. GURPS Writers
The ''Generic Universal RolePlaying System'', or ''GURPS'', is a tabletop role-playing game system designed to allow for play in any game setting. It was created by Steve Jackson Games and first published in 1986 at a time when most such systems were story- or genre-specific. Players control their in-game characters verbally and the success of their actions are determined by the skill of their character, the difficulty of the action, and the rolling of dice. Characters earn points during play which are used to gain greater abilities. Gaming sessions are story-told and run by " Game Masters" (often referred to as simply "GMs"). A dungeon is a room or cell in which prisoners are held, especially underground. Dungeons are generally associated with medieval castles, though their association with torture probably belongs more to the Renaissance period. An oubliette (from french ''oublier'' meaning to ''forget'') or bottle dungeon is a basement room which is accessible only from a hatch or hole (an ''angstloch'') in a high ceiling. Victims in oubliettes were often left to starve and dehydrate to death, making the practice akin to—and some say an actual variety of—immurement. Biloxi, Mississippi
Biloxi ( ; ) is a city in and one of two county seats of Harrison County, Mississippi, United States (the other being the adjacent city of Gulfport).
