Curtea Veche Nr. 43
Curtea Veche nr. 43 were a Romanian musical band who were active in the mid-1970s. They formed in 1974 as a trio: Sorin Chifiriuc (guitar), Traian Sasu (drums) and Nicușor Curta (bass). Except for Florin Ochescu, who was a student at the Bucharest Polytechnics Institute, the other three members were students at the Bucharest Music Academy. Later, Curta was replaced by Florin Iordănescu, and Florin Ochescu joined as a guitarist. During the years several member changes took place, the band collaborating also with Mircea Florian, who contributed both music and lyrics. The band recorded some songs at the state-owned radio studio, and appeared sporadically also on television, for example on Club A. Televiziunea Română (), more commonly referred to as TVR , is the short name for Societatea Română de Televiziune ("Romanian Television Society"; SRTV), the Romanian public television. It operates six channels: TVR1, TVR2, TVR3, TVR Info, TVR Cultural, TVRi, and TVR Moldova along with six regional studios in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Craiova and Târgu Mureș. Mircea Florian (; born December 5, 1949), also known as Florian din Transilvania, M. A. N. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. Mircea Florian
Mircea Florian (; April 1, 1888 – October 31, 1960) was a Romanian philosopher and translator. Active mainly during the interwar period, he was noted as one of the leading proponents of rationalism, opposing it to the '' Trăirist'' philosophy of Nae Ionescu. His work, comprising some 20 books, shows Florian as a disciple of centrists and rationalists such as Constantin Rădulescu-Motru and Titu Maiorescu. Active in independent social democratic politics, the philosopher became a political prisoner under the communist regime. It was during his time in jail that Florian conceived his philosophical system, published after his death in the treatise ''Recesivitatea ca structură a lumii'' ("Recessivity as World Structure"). Sorin Chifiriuc
Sorin Chifiriuc (born 1950, Bucharest, Romania) is a rock, new wave, and blues guitarist and vocalist. Affectionately called ''Skifi'' by his fans, and a student of the Bucharest Music Conservatory (where he studied the violin, but which he did not graduate from), he is also known for his unconventional behaviour on stage. He was a member of many well-known Romanian rock bands, such as Curtea Veche nr. 43, Sfinx, Iris, Domino, Roata, Electric Red Roosters, 2 Galbini. After the Romanian Revolution of 1989, he worked for a while as a DJ for Radio Nova 22.
