''Currents'' is the fourth full-length album by the band Eisley. It was released on May 28, 2013, on Equal Vision Records. The title-track song ''"Currents,"'' is the first official single from the album, and was publicly released on April 23, 2013. On April 16, 2013, Eisley released an online stream of the song ''"Drink The Water,"'' hosted by Nylon Magazine. The streaming of this song marked the first full-length song to be heard from ''Currents''. The album charted at number 66 on the ''Billboard'' 200, making it the group's highest-charting album to date. Production (May–October, 2012) The group began production of their fourth studio album on May 5, 2012, in their studio constructed in their hometown of Tyler, TX. Eisley
Eisley is an American rock band from Tyler, Texas, originally consisting of siblings Sherri DuPree, Chauntelle DuPree, Stacy DuPree and Weston DuPree. Remaining recording/touring members are their sister Sherri DuPree-Bemis and their cousin Garron DuPree. Their name was inspired by the Star Wars saga (i.e. Mos Eisley). Since forming, the band has released five studio albums: ''Room Noises'' (2005), ''Combinations'' (2007), '' The Valley'' (2011), ''Currents'' (2013), and '' I'm Only Dreaming'' (2017), along with numerous EPs. Max Bemis
Maxim Adam Bemis (born April 6, 1984) () is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer, primary composer and primary lyricist of the band, Say Anything (band), Say Anything, before their hiatus in 2018. He sang alongside Chris Conley in the Supergroup (music), supergroup Two Tongues (which featured band members from Say Anything and Saves the Day). He plays alongside his wife Sherri DuPree, Sherri Dupree-Bemis under the name Perma, and is a comic book writer, chiefly for Marvel Comics. Early life Bemis was born in New York City in 1984. His family moved to Hollywood, California when he was a child. Bemis took piano lessons which he credits for the realization that he wanted to make music. Say Anything (band)
Say Anything is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 2000 by Max Bemis and his friends, and within two years, self-released two EPs and a full-length album. In 2003, the band signed with their first label, Doghouse Records. A year later, they released their second album, '' ...Is a Real Boy''. To support the album, they picked up new members and began touring; however, despite rapidly growing critical and fan acclaim, Bemis' health problems, including bipolar disorder and drug addictions, sidelined the band in 2005 as five band members left during the year. Sherri DuPree-Bemis
Sherri DuPree-Bemis (born December 3, 1983) is a musician, singer, songwriter and guitarist from Texas. She is one of the primary vocalists and songwriters for the band Eisley. Dupree-Bemis is also a guest vocalist for many other projects, as well as a visual artist. Career Three of her siblings, Chauntelle, Stacy, and Weston DuPree, were also members of Eisley, along with her cousin, Garron DuPree. Her youngest sister Christie has also occasionally performed with them live. After the departure of her siblings, Dupree-Bemis became Eisley's primary singer and songwriter. Her drawings can be seen on much of the Eisley merchandise, as well as on most of their album artwork. Garron DuPree
Garron DuPree (born December 4, 1989) is a bass guitarist and recording engineer from Texas. DuPree began his career as a professional musician in 2005 at the age of 15 as the bassist for the group Eisley, and became the bassist for Say Anything in 2013. DuPree is also a recording engineer as well as a session musician. Personal life Garron was born in Houston, TX. and was raised in the surrounding cities of Richmond, and Sugar Land, Texas.
