Cupra Tavascan
The Cupra Tavascan is an battery electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) to be produced by Volkswagen Anhui, a joint venture between Volkswagen and Chinese company JAC Motors, and sold by Cupra, a subsidiary of SEAT. The concept car was first shown at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. In March 2021, it was confirmed that the vehicle would begin production, with the official launch taking place in April 2023. A concept car (also known as a concept vehicle, show vehicle or prototype) is a car made to showcase new styling and/or new technology. They are often exhibited at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not be mass-produced. Extreme E is an FIA-sanctioned international off-road racing series that uses spec silhouette electric SUVs to race in remote parts of the world, such as the Saudi Arabian desert or the Arctic. All racing locations are chosen to raise awareness for some aspects of climate change and Extreme E maintains a "Legacy Programme" which intends to provide social and environmental support for those locations.
