Culture House Eemhuis
Culture House Eemhuis is a culture house in Amersfoort, Netherlands was designed by Michiel Riedijk in 2013. The building houses cultural organizations including: a library, institutes of education, a school for arts, and spaces for art exhibition. History In 2013 Michiel Riedijk of Neutelings Riedijk Architects was the architect for the Eemhuis. The builders were Euramax, Harry van Interieurbouw, IFS-SGT, and Q-railing: the building was completed in 2014. In order to build the Eemhuis the municipality had to buy out a 30 lease from a tenant who had rights to the property. The construction also had a 5 million dollar cost overrun. The front of the building has three cantilevered sections which hang over a plaza entrance. The structure houses a library, a school of the arts, and large exhibition spaces. Amersfoort () is a city and municipality in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands, about 20 km from the city of Utrecht and 40 km south east of Amsterdam. Flint, formerly De Flint, is a theatre in the centre of Amersfoort, Netherlands built in 1977. It was designed by Onno Greiner. The Flint programme includes play, musicals, cabaret and performances for children. On 25 November 1990 the theatre burned down. There were signs of burglary. The damage was 10 million Dutch guilder. The Royal Theater Carré (Dutch: ) is a Neo-Renaissance theatre in Amsterdam, located near the river Amstel. When the theatre was founded in 1887, it was originally meant as a permanent circus building. Currently, it is mainly used for musicals, cabaret performances and pop concerts. The Lindenberg Nijmegen Culture House, founded in 1972, was a project opened by the Netherlands Minister of Culture, Piet Engels. It is a cultural house (theatre) in Nijmegen, Netherlands, on the Ridderstraat next to the Valkhof Museum. The Lindenberg operates theatre programs, hosts performances, hosts education courses, and has a cafe. The organization also receives a subsidy from the government.
