Municipalities (''municipios'' in Spanish language, Spanish) are the second-level administrative divisions of Mexico, where the first-level administrative division is the ''states of Mexico, state'' (Spanish: estado). A ''presidente municipal'' (English: "municipal president") is the chief of government of municipios in Mexico. This title was also used in the Philippines under the Spanish and American colonization; it is comparable to a mayor of the town or city. Ojocaliente, Zacatecas
Ojocaliente (population ~44,144) is a medium-sized town in the southeastern part of the Mexican state of Zacatecas. It is considered the center of México. The town was founded in 1620; its first name was "Real Villa de Sacramento y Ojocaliente Mina de Bastidas." The name of Ojocaliente (literally "hot eye") derives from its hot springs ("ojo" meaning pond or pool) and mineral veins that were exploited in the hills of Santiago. Luis Moya is a municipality in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, located approximately southeast of the state capital at Zacatecas. It is named after (1855–1911), a colonel in the Mexican Revolution who was posthumously given the rank of brigadier general in 1939. Geography The municipality of Luis Moya is located at an elevation between on the Mexican Plateau in southeastern Zacatecas. Genaro Codina is a municipality in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, located approximately southwest of the state capital at the city of Zacatecas.
