Crveni spust () is a World Cup slalom ski course at Medvednica mountain near Zagreb, Croatia, first opened in 1946 by the city. Marlies Schild
Marlies Raich (née Schild, born 31 May 1981) is a retired Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer. She specializes in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. Schild won four Olympic medals, with silvers in the combined (2006) and slalom (2010, 2014) and a bronze in slalom (2006). She has seven World Championship medals and has won five World Cup season titles. Schild completed her World Cup career with 37 wins, all but two in slalom. Susanne Riesch (born 8 December 1987, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, West Germany) is a former alpine ski racer. Sandrine Aubert (born 6 October 1982 in Échirolles, Isère) is a retired French alpine skier and a slalom specialist. After she was not selected for the French squad for the 2014 Winter Olympics, she announced her retirement from competition in February 2014. 2009 Season Aubert won her first World Cup race in women's slalom in Ofterschwang, Germany on 7 March 2009. The following week she won a consecutive second World Cup slalom race in Åre, Sweden. 2010 Season Aubert won again in Åre the third World Cup slalom race of the season. 2009–10 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The 44th World Cup season began on 24 October 2009, in Sölden, Austria, and concluded on 14 March 2010, at the World Cup finals in Garmisch, Germany. No World Cup events were scheduled in February because of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada; the Olympic alpine events were scheduled for 13–27 February at Whistler Mountain. The overall titles were won by Carlo Janka of Switzerland and Lindsey Vonn of the U.S., her third consecutive. The 2010 season also marked the end to a long and successful career for Liechtenstein skier Marco Büchel. FIS standards require that three events be completed in a discipline for a discipline trophy to be awarded. Maria Höfl-Riesch (; née Riesch, born 24 November 1984) is a former German World Cup alpine ski racer. She is a three-time Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and an overall World Cup champion. Höfl-Riesch made her World Cup debut in February 2001 and won gold medals in slalom and super combined at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She won the World Cup overall title in 2011. The 43rd World Cup season began in late October 2008 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded in mid-March 2009, at the World Cup finals in Åre, Sweden. Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway won the overall title by two points over Benjamin Raich of Austria. Svindal returned from a season-ending injury in December 2007, and also took the season title in super-G. Lindsey Vonn of the U.S. repeated as women's overall champion, taking the title by a substantial 384 points over Maria Riesch of Germany. Vonn also repeated as the season downhill champion, and added the season title in super-G. Being an odd-numbered year, a break in the World Cup schedule was for the biennial World Championships. Veronika Velez-Zuzulová ( Zuzulová; born 15 July 1984) is a retired Slovak alpine ski racer. Born in Bratislava, she specialised in the slalom and was the most successful Slovak alpine skier before Petra Vlhová. She was coached by her father Timotej Zuzula and Vladimír Kovár. In April 2012, she married coach Romain Velez and added her maiden name to her married name becoming Velez-Zuzulová. Velez-Zuzulová started skiing at age 3; at 14 she won the Trofeo Topolino in Italy, an unofficial children's world championship. Šárka Strachová (, née Záhrobská ; born on 11 February 1985) is a retired Czech World Cup alpine ski racer. Born in Benecko, she specializes in the slalom event. Strachová is the first alpine racer representing the Czech Republic to medal at the Winter Olympics and at the World Championships and just the second Czech alpine skier ever to medal in the Olympics. 2006–07 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The 41st World Cup season was scheduled to begin on 28 October 2006, but cancellation of the opening races in Sölden delayed the season's start by two weeks. A very poor snowpack in the Alps, along with stormy weather in January, caused numerous races to be moved and rescheduled throughout the winter. The schedule included a mid-season break during the first 3 weeks of February for the World Championships in Åre, Sweden.
