Cristian Gastón Fabbiani (born 3 September 1983 in Ciudad Evita) is an Argentine former professional footballer and current manager at Fenix de Pilar. Playing career Fabbiani comes from a family of footballers, he has 13 relatives from his father's side of the family who were professional footballers, including an uncle who played for Chile's national team, Óscar Fabbiani. During his period spent in Chile at Palestino, he was nicknamed ''El Ogro'' ( en, The Ogre) which was a reference to a goal celebration he used to make using a Shrek mask. In the 2006–07 season, Fabbiani played 6 games for Beitar Jerusalem, helping the team win the Israeli Premier League. In 2007 he was transferred by Lanús in Romania at CFR Cluj for a transfer fee estimated between 2–3 million €. Ciudad Evita is a city in the '' partido'' of La Matanza in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, located 20 kilometers (13 mi) from Downtown Buenos Aires within the Greater Buenos Aires metro area. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. The 2007–08 UEFA Cup was the 37th edition of the UEFA Cup, UEFA's second-tier club football tournament. The final was played at the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, England on 14 May 2008 between Rangers of Scotland and Zenit Saint Petersburg of Russia. Zenit won the match 2–0, with goals from Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyryanov, to claim their first UEFA Cup title.
