Constantin Cristescu
Constantin Cristescu (2 December 1866 — 9 May 1923) was a Romanian lieutenant general during World War I, and Chief of the Romanian General Staff, Chief of Staff of the Romanian Army. Biography Early life He was born on 2 December 1866 in Lunca Corbului, Pădureți village, in Argeș County. He attended the Ion Brătianu National College (Pitești), gymnasium in Pitești and the School for Sons of Military in Craiova. In 1887 he graduated first in his class from the Infantry and Cavalry Officers School in Bucharest, with the rank of second lieutenant. Cristescu pursued his studies at the École Polytechnique in Paris in 1890, the School of Applied Artillery, School of Artillery and Engineering Application of Fontainebleau in 1892, and the École Militaire, Superior School of War in Paris in 1894. Eugen Cristescu (3 April 1895 – 12 June 1950) was the second head of the Kingdom of Romania's domestic espionage agency, the Secret Intelligence Service (SSI), forerunner of today's SRI, convicted in 1946 as a war criminal. Gheorghe Cristescu
Gheorghe Cristescu (October 10, 1882 in Copaciu, Giurgiu County – November 29, 1973 in Timișoara) was a Romanian socialist and, for a part of his life, communist militant. Nicknamed "Plăpumarul" ("The Blanket Maker"), he is also occasionally referred to as "Omul cu lavaliera roșie" ("The man with the red four-in-hand necktie"), after the most notable of his accessories. Biography Early activism Born in Copaciu (at the time part of Ilfov County, presently in Giurgiu County), Cristescu trained as a blanket-maker and became the owner of a blanket-making shop. Melania Elena Cristescu is a Romanian–Canadian biologist and ecologist. She is an associate professor and Canada Research Chair in Ecological Genomics at McGill University and the Co-Editor of ''Genome''. Early life Born in Brașov, Cristescu chose her career while examining aquatic habitats in the Danube Delta or exploring trails and caves of the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania during her childhood summer vacations. Silvian Cristescu (born 29 October 1970) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for CS Universitatea Craiova, FC Universitatea Craiova, Extensiv Craiova, Panelefsiniakos, BFC Dynamo and Steaua București.
