Hendrik Constantijn Cras
Hendrik Constantijn Cras (4 January 1739, Leiden – 5 April 1820, Amsterdam) was a Dutch jurist and city librarian of Amsterdam. He studied law in Leiden. For nearly fifty years, beginning in 1771, he taught all fields of legal study at the Athenaeum Illustre in Amsterdam. His work mirrors the decline of the significance of Roman law in legal practice. Beginning his career as an adherent of Roman law, Cras became a fundamental supporter of natural law and legal codification towards the end of the 18th century. Noted for his focus on general principles of law, his lengthy publications on the principles of equality and liberty had nonetheless little lasting impact. In 1798, Cras rose to prominence as the leading member of a commission charged with drafting national codes of law. Jean Cras
Jean Émile Paul Cras (; 22 May 1879 – 14 September 1932) was a 20th-century French composer and career naval officer. His musical compositions were inspired by his native Brittany, his travels to Africa, and most of all, by his sea voyages. As a naval commander he served with distinction in the Adriatic Campaign during World War I. Biography Life and naval career Cras was born and died in Brest. His father was naval medical officer. He was accepted into the navy at the age of seventeen. As a midshipman cadet on the ''Iphigénie'', he travelled in the Americas, the West Indies and Senegal. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1908. Steff Cras (born 13 February 1996) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career In August 2019 he rode the 2019 Vuelta a España. In October 2019 Cras had been announced to join on an initial two-year deal following the demise of his current team . In August 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Tour de France. This was his first ever Tour, his job was to ride in support of Caleb Ewan who was aiming for the Green Points Jersey. The 2021 Volta a Catalunya was a race where COVID-19 was rampant, Cras caught COVID and had to abandon the race before the last stage. After two years at Cras announced a one-year contract extension to remain with the team till the end of 2022. On 17 August 2022 it was announced that Cras would join for two seasons from 2023.
