Craig Lyons
Craig Lyons (born December 25, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey and inline hockey player. Lyons played three seasons (1990–1993) of major junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), helping his team to win the 1992 Memorial Cup. He went on to play eleven seasons of professional hockey, mostly in the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) where he suited up for 364 regular season contests. He was named to the WCHL First All-Star Team for the 1996–97, 1997–98 and 2000–01 seasons. During the 2000–01 WCHL season he scored 117 points to lead the WCHL in points, and was selected as the WCHL's Most Valuable Player. Lyons also played four seasons of professional inline hockey with Roller Hockey International, skating with the Sacramento River Rats, Los Angeles Blades, and San Jose Rhinos between 1995 and 1999. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Kelly Askew
Kelly Askew (born November 6, 1971) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey and inline hockey player. Following four years of NCAA play with the RPI Engineers men's ice hockey team, Askew played inline hockey with the 1995 New Jersey Rockin' Rollers of Roller Hockey International, and then spent the 1995-96 season with Canada men's national ice hockey team. Sacramento River Rats
The Connecticut Coasters were a Roller Hockey International franchise based in New Haven, Connecticut, that played only in the 1993 season before moving to California and becoming the Sacramento River Rats. Their team colors were teal, purple, and silver. They played at New Haven Memorial Coliseum under the joint ownership of the league and arena. The Coasters finished 3rd in their division and 7th in the league with a 7-5-2 record, and faced the Anaheim Bullfrogs in the first round of the playoffs, a team that finished with the league's best record and went on to win the inaugural Murphy Cup. 1997–98 WCHL Season
The 1997-98 West Coast Hockey League season was the third season of the West Coast Hockey League, a North American minor professional league. Nine teams participated in the regular season, and the San Diego Gulls were the league champions. In addition to league play, WCHL teams played regular season games against the Russian Superleague team CKA-Amur (now Amur Khabarovsk). 1992 Memorial Cup
The 1992 Memorial Cup occurred May 9–17 at the Coliseum in Seattle. It was the 74th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.
