Coz I Luv You
"Coz I Luv You" is a song by the British rock band Slade, released in 1971 as a non-album single. It was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea, and produced by Chas Chandler. It reached No. 1 in the UK, giving the band their first number one single, and remained in the charts for fifteen weeks. In 1972, a compilation album of the same name would be released outside the UK. The song was included on the compilation and would also feature on the band's 1973 compilation album ''Sladest''. Background Slade achieved their commercial breakthrough with the release of their version of Bobby Marchan's " Get Down and Get with It" in May 1971. Deciding to capture their strong reputation as a live act onto record, "Get Down and Get with It" was seen as the perfect choice as the band frequently played it live to a great response. Slade are an English rock band formed in Wolverhampton in 1966. They rose to prominence during the glam rock era in the early 1970s, achieving 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones on the UK Singles Chart. The ''British Hit Singles & Albums'' names them the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles. ''Top of the Pops'' (''TOTP'') is a British Record chart, music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly between 1January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The programme was the world's longest-running weekly music show. For most of its history, it was broadcast on Thursday evenings on BBC One. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart. ''El lobo'' ( en, The Wolf) is a 2004 Spanish drama biographical film directed by Miguel Courtois and starring Eduardo Noriega. Plot The film is based on the life of Mikel Lejarza, an agent of the Spanish intelligence service in the early 1970s. During the end of the Francoist State, Lejarza infiltrated ETA, a paramilitary group seeking independence for the Basque Country. ''B-Sides'' is a 2-disc compilation album by the British glam rock band Slade released in March 2007. This was the first time many of the songs included on the album were released since the early 1970s. Since the late 1980s, the Slade fan club had confirmed that a possible project was the release of a b-side compilation although this never materialised. Digital masters were supplied for a number of the earlier B-sides by Ian Edmundson, who is credited in the CD booklet. Some needles drops were used from copies of rare singles supplied to Salvo by fans. A number of B-Side tracks were excluded from this collection, as Salvo did not want to create a 3CD package. Cotillion Records was a subsidiary of Atlantic Records (from 1971 part of WEA) and was active from 1968 through 1985. The label was formed as an outlet for pop, R&B, and jazz. Its first single, Otis Clay's version of "She's About a Mover", reached the R&B charts. Cotillion's catalog quickly expanded to include progressive rock, folk-rock, gospel, jazz and comedy.
