Cowboy Smithx
Cowboy Smithx (born January 31, 1982) is a Blackfoot filmmaker from the Piikani Nation and Kainai Nation in Southern Alberta. He has acted in, co-produced, and directed a few short films and music videos. His best known work is a full feature documentary co-produced with Chris Hsiung called, Elder in the Making. It is a film about reconciliation between non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. Background In 2008, Cowboy Smithx was employed as a youth worker in East Vancouver, Canada. The organization he worked for is KAYA, which stands for the, 'Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Association'. Cowboy Smithx is a 2008 graduate from the Indigenous Independent Digital Filmmaking Program at Capilano University. Chief Mountain
Chief Mountain ('' Blackfoot: Ninaistako'') () is located in the U.S. state of Montana on the eastern border of Glacier National Park and the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. The mountain is one of the most prominent peaks and rock formations along the Rocky Mountain Front, a long overthrust fault, known as the Lewis Overthrust, which extends from central Montana into southern Alberta, Canada. Elle-Máijá Apiniskim Tailfeathers (born in 1986) is a Blackfoot and Sámi filmmaker, actor, and producer from the Kainai First Nation in Canada. She has won several accolades for her film work, including multiple Canadian Screen Awards. Born in Cardston, Alberta, Tailfeathers began acting in the late 2000s before embarking on a career as a filmmaker. For directing '' The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open'', she shared the Canadian Screen Award for Best Director with Kathleen Hepburn. That film also won the Toronto Film Critics Association's $100,000 Rogers Best Canadian Film Award.
