Covert Action Division
Covert Action Division (CAD) is generally considered the most secretive special operations force of Pakistan. It is responsible for special paramilitary and covert operations. It is tasked to collect intelligence in dense hostile environments and act as a special warfare unit of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). It is similar in function to the CIA Special Activities Center Special Operations Group. History and formation After the formation of ISI in 1948, Pakistan faced a challenge in the Tribal Agencies of Waziristan caused by Faqir of Ipi. In response, a group of die-hard persons from the militia and Gilgit Scouts, Gilgit scouts were trained. They formed the new directorate of ISI. Lieutenant General
Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a three-star military rank (NATO code OF-8) used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal. A lieutenant general commands an army corps, made up of typically three army divisions, and consisting of around 60 000 to 70 000 soldiers (U.S.). Nadeem Anjum
Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum is a three-star general in the Pakistan Army and is currently serving as the Director-General of the ISI since 20 November 2021. Military career He was commissioned in the 28th Punjab Regiment and is from the 77th PMA Long Course. Director-General Of Inter-Services Intelligence
The director-general (DG) is head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan's premier intelligence service, operationally responsible for providing critical national security and intelligence assessment to the government of Pakistan. Inter-Services Intelligence
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI; ur, , bayn khadamatiy mukhabarati) is the premier intelligence agency of Pakistan. It is responsible for gathering, processing, and analyzing any information from around the world that is deemed relevant to Pakistan's national security. As one of the principal members of the Pakistani Intelligence Community, Pakistani intelligence community, the ISI reports to Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence, its Director-General and is primarily focused on providing intelligence to the government of Pakistan, Pakistani government.
