Cover-up
A cover-up is an attempt, whether successful or not, to conceal evidence of wrongdoing, error, incompetence, or other embarrassing information. Research has distinguished personal cover-ups (covering up one's own misdeeds) from relational cover-ups (covering up someone else's misdeeds). The expression is usually applied to people in positions of authority who abuse power to avoid or silence criticism or to deflect guilt of wrongdoing. Perpetrators of a cover-up (initiators or their allies) may be responsible for a misdeed, a breach of trust or duty, or a crime. While the terms are often used interchangeably, ''cover-up'' involves withholding incriminatory evidence, while ''whitewash'' involves releasing misleading evidence. See also Misprision. A cover-up involving multiple parties is a type of conspiracy. Modern usage When a scandal breaks, the discovery of an attempt to cover up the truth is often regarded as even more reprehensible than the original deeds. The mi ...

The Protomen
The Protomen are an American rock band, who started their career on and are perhaps most widely known for composing concept albums loosely based on the video game series '' Mega Man''. Their stage names are largely references to pop culture films, song titles, and fictional characters. The group members refer to themselves as storytellers, creating a "rock and roll fable". History The band is composed mostly of MTSU recording program graduates, and originated in order to meet class deadlines and the need to record for their grades. Their first live performance was in April 2004. Most of the band had graduated and moved to Nashville by 2005. In a 2009 interview, lead vocalist Panther stated, "We basically gathered up all of our good friends from the local rock bands of Murfreesboro, tied ourselves together, and tried to walk. And somehow it worked. At the time, we noticed a void in rock and roll. A hole that could only really be filled with grown men and women painting up like ro ...

Cover Ups
''Cover Ups'' is a compilation album by the Santa Cruz, California-based hardcore punk band Good Riddance, collecting all of the cover songs the band had previously released. It was released July 2, 2002 through Lorelei Records, a record label co-founded by the band's singer Russ Rankin. Reception Kurt Morris of Allmusic gave ''Cover Ups'' two stars out of five, commenting that "Some of the tunes seemed marred by the band trying to be funny and instead being annoying (the snotty "na-na-na" chorus on 'I Melt with You,' the high-pitched girly shrieking on 'Leader of the Pack,' etc.) ... Highlights of the album would no doubt be the Kiss cover and Bill Stevenson of Black Flag, All, and the Descendents doing drums and guitar on the Black Flag tune ... cover albums are (in almost all cases) for fans only. ''Cover Ups'' is no exception." Track listing Personnel Musicians * Russ Rankin – vocals; bass guitar on track 10; additional guitar on track 5 * Luke Pabich – gu ...

Cover Up (UB40 Album)
''Cover Up'' is the fourteenth studio album by English reggae band UB40, released on 22 October 2001 through Virgin Records and DEP International. Recorded with co-producer Gerry Parchment at DEP International Studios in Birmingham, the album followed a musical break for the group. It exemplifies their distinct reggae/pop sound and uses programmed rhythms as the basis for songs; the incorporation of the latter caused friction within the band and singer Ali Campbell later criticised the production style. On release, ''Cover Up'' reached number 29 on the UK Albums Chart and left the chart after three weeks, reflecting the group's diminishing profile. The lead single, "Since I Met You Lady", was a collaboration with dancehall singer Lady Saw. The song was shunned by BBC Radio 1, a decision criticised by Campbell, and reached number 40 on the UK Singles Chart. The second single, "Cover Up", reached number 54 and concerns AIDS prevention. In late 2001, following a charity concert at t ...
