Coventry And Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust was formed in 2006 and took over community services from NHS Coventry in April 2011. It provides mental health and learning disability services for people in Coventry and Warwickshire, England. A Commissioning for Quality and Innovation scheme established by the Trust in 2011 showed less than 50% of the mental health budget was being spent on local services because many patients were being placed outside the area in expensive facilities. 400 out of area patients were identified. By March 2014, 134 had been returned to the area and the number being sent out of the area was reduced because more specialist beds were provided locally. During the three years of the project a total of £10.5m was saved. The project has now been expanded to include patients with dementia and learning difficulties. A mental health trust provides health and social care services for people with mental health disorders in England. There are 54 mental health trusts. They are commissioned and funded by clinical commissioning groups. NHS Trust Development Authority
The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHSTDA) was an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health. Its formation came as a result of reorganisation of the National Health Service (NHS) in England outlined in the Health and Social Care Act 2012. It is now part of NHS Improvement. Organisation David Flory was its chief executive. He retired in May 2015. The NHSTDA existed to manage the process of NHS trusts becoming foundation trusts and to performance manage those hospital trusts that remained directly accountable to the NHS. A foundation trust is a semi-autonomous organisational unit within the National Health Service in England. They have a degree of independence from the Department of Health and Social Care (and, until the abolition of SHAs in 2013, their local strategic health authority). Coventry City Council is the local government body responsible for the governance of the City of Coventry in England, which has been a metropolitan district since 1974. University Hospital Coventry is a large National Health Service (NHS) hospital situated in the Walsgrave on Sowe area of Coventry, West Midlands, England, north-east of the city centre.
