Counties Manukau Cometz
Counties Manukau Cometz, are a former New Zealand netball team that were based in Papatoetoe, Auckland. Cometz represented the Counties Manukau/ Thames Valley regions of South Auckland and, as a result, were also known as CMTV Cometz. Between 1998 and 2003, they played in the Coca-Cola Cup/National Bank Cup league. History Inaugural season In 1998, together with Auckland Diamonds, Bay of Plenty Magic, Capital Shakers, Canterbury Flames, Northern Force, Otago Rebels, Waikato Wildcats, Southern Sting and Western Flyers, Cometz were founding members of the Coca-Cola Cup/National Bank Cup league. Cometz represented the Counties Manukau/ Thames Valley regions of South Auckland and, as a result, were also known as CMTV Cometz. Western Flyers
The Western Flyers were a New Zealand netball team which represented most of the Central, Southern and Eastern North Island in the National Bank Cup. The team was formed in 1998 and played all ten seasons of the competition. At the end of the 2007, the Flyers merged with the Capital Shakers to form the Central Pulse, one of five New Zealand teams in the ANZ Championship, which commenced in 2008. Franchise The Flyers franchise was based in New Plymouth, Whanganui, Napier and Palmerston North. The franchise recently amalgamated the Eastern Netball Region (which is an amalgamation of Napier, Hastings, Gisborne, Wairoa, Central Hawke's Bay and Dannevirke Netball). Gael Nagaiya
Gael Nagaiya (born 8 May 1966) is a former netball player who, in 1992, was the 100th woman ever to play for the New Zealand national netball team. She has also served as a selector for the team. Carron Jerram
Carron Jerram is a former netball player who represented New Zealand. She first played for the New Zealand national netball team in 1990 and played for it on 31 occasions, including in the 1991 and 1995 world championships. She now works for a veterinary hospital. Early life Carron Dawn Rapley Jerram (née Topping) was born on the Isle of Man on 6 March 1968. She married Richard Jerram, who played for Waikato Rugby Union. They have four children. Temepara George
Temepara Anne Bailey (formerly Clark, née George; born 23 October 1975 in Auckland) is a New Zealand international netball player of Samoan and Māori descent. She was a member of the Silver Ferns national squad in 1996, and from 2000–2011. George retired from international duties after the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore. She played domestic netball in the ANZ Championship as captain of the Northern Mystics. Since the inaugural season, George has taken part in every quarter for the Mystics. She retired from all netball in 2012. She made a come back as a player for the Northern Stars in the 2019 ANZ Championship. She was previously on the coaching bench for the same team. 2022 ANZ Premiership Season
The 2022 ANZ Premiership season was the sixth season of Netball New Zealand's ANZ Premiership. With a team coached by Yvette McCausland-Durie, co-captained by Kelly Jury and Tiana Metuarau and featuring Aliyah Dunn, Erikana Pedersen and Whitney Souness, Central Pulse won their third title. Pulse finished the regular season as minor premiers, finishing above Northern Stars and Northern Mystics. In the Elimination final, Stars defeated Mystics 63–57. National Netball League (New Zealand)
The National Netball League is a New Zealand netball league. Since 2016 it has served as a second-level league, initially below the ANZ Championship and later below the ANZ Premiership. It is organised by Netball New Zealand. Between 2016 and 2020, due to sponsorship and naming rights arrangements, the NNL was known as the Beko Netball League. Since 2022, the league has been sponsored by Synergy Hair and, as a result, it is also known as the Synergy Hair National League. 2003 Southern Sting Season
The 2003 Southern Sting season saw the Southern Sting netball team compete in the 2003 National Bank Cup league season. With a team coached by Robyn Broughton, captained by Lesley Nicol and featuring Tania Dalton, Adine Harper, Donna Loffhagen and Wendy Telfer, Sting won their fifth consecutive league title. In the semi-final, they defeated Otago Rebels 56–43. In the grand final, they defeated Northern Force 51–49. It was the first time in the history of the league that it featured a South Island v North Island final.
