''CounterPunch'' is a 2017 documentary film directed by Jay Bulger following three fighters at different stages of their career chasing their goals of becoming champions. The film was released by Netflix on June 6, 2017. Premise CounterPunch is an authentic documentary about boxing, covering both the good and the bad aspects of the sport, and follows the personal growth and development of its main characters, Chis "Lil B Hop" Colbert, Cam F. Jay Bulger (born August19, 1982) is an American film director and writer from Washington, D.C. Biography Bulger attended Fordham University in the Bronx, where he boxed in several New York Golden Glove tournaments. Photographs of his fighting launched him onto the cover of ''Vogue'' and then modelling for brands such as Armani, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Kenneth Cole, and Hermès. Ray Charles Leonard (born May 17, 1956), best known as "Sugar" Ray Leonard, is an American former professional boxer, motivational speaker, and occasional actor. Often regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, he competed professionally between 1977 and 1997, winning world titles in five weight classes; the lineal championship in three weight classes; as well as the undisputed welterweight championship.
