"Countdown" is the sixth single by Japanese singer Hyde, and the first single from his third solo album ''Faith''. It was released on 5 October 2005, and was Hyde's first solo single since 2003. , known by his stage name Hyde (stylized as HYDE or hyde), is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. Best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel since 1991, he is also the lead vocalist of Vamps and has a solo career. Hyde rose to fame in the 1990s as part of L'Arc-en-Ciel, who have sold over 40 million records and were the first Japanese act to perform a solo show at Madison Square Garden. ''Faith'' is the third album by Hyde, released on April 26, 2006. The limited edition included a DVD with the music video for the two singles: "Countdown" and "Season's Call". The overseas version of the album was released on June 27, 2006. All songs were arranged by Hyde and K.A.Z, his future Vamps bandmate. It peaked at number 2 on the Oricon weekly chart. Themes The Western press has noted ''Faith'' for its lyrics' spiritual subject matter as the album contains references to Christianity. ''Roentgen'' is the debut album by Hyde, released on March 27, 2002. It was released on his own label Haunted Records, a division of Sony's Ki/oon Records. The cover of the regular edition is an X-ray of Hyde's own skull. "The Cape of Storms" was used as the theme song for the movie ''Kagen no Tsuki'', which Hyde starred in. An English version was released overseas on July 4. A Japanese release of the English version, titled ''Roentgen English'', was released on October 14, 2004.
