Countach
The Lamborghini Countach () is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Lamborghini from 1974 until 1990. It is one of the many exotic designs developed by Italian design house Gruppo Bertone, Bertone, which pioneered and popularized the sharply angled "Italian Wedge" shape. The style was introduced to the public in 1970 as the Lancia Stratos#Stratos Zero, Lancia Stratos Zero concept car. The first showing of the Countach prototype was at the Geneva Motor Show#1971, 1971 Geneva Motor Show, as the Lamborghini LP500 concept. Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4
The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is a Mid-engine design, mid-engine Hybrid electric vehicle, hybrid-electric sports car produced by the Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini. Unveiled on 14 August 2021, the car is named after the original Lamborghini Countach, Countach which was first introduced 50 years prior. Based on the hybridized powertrain of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, Sián FKP 37, 112 units are planned to be produced, the number referring to the LP 112 model designation used during development of the original Countach. Deliveries are due to start in early 2022; all 112 models had completely been sold out less than a week after being unveiled. Marcello Gandini (born 26 August 1938) is an Italian car designer, known for his work with the automotive design house Gruppo Bertone, including his designs of the Lamborghini Miura, Countach, and the Lamborghini Diablo. In a 2009 interview with Robert Cumberford, editor at Automobile Magazine, Gandini indicated, "his design interests are focused on vehicle architecture, construction, assembly, and mechanisms – not appearance." Bob Wallace (4 October 193819 September 2013) was a New Zealand test driver, automotive engineer and mechanic, best known for his role in developing early Lamborghini road cars. Early life Wallace was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1938. He became involved in auto racing as a teenager, meeting local and international drivers and mechanics at races in New Zealand. He moved from Auckland to Italy in 1959, prompted by an invitation from Guerino Bertocchi to work at Maserati. Wallace was accompanied by his friend John Ohlson, neither of whom spoke any Italian. When Wallace arrived in Italy, he was not able to get a job at Maserati. He instead worked as a mechanic for the racing teams Camoradi USA and Scuderia Serenissima.
