Costa, Lajas, Puerto Rico
Costa is a barrio in the municipality of Lajas, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 1,628. History Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the combined population of Costa and Parguera barrios was 1,256. ''Costa Concordia'' () was a cruise ship operated by Costa Crociere. She was the first of her class, followed by sister ships ''Costa Serena'', ''Costa Pacifica'', ''Costa Favolosa'' and ''Costa Fascinosa'', and ''Carnival Splendor'' built for Carnival Cruise Line. When the 114,137-ton ''Costa Concordia'' and her sister ships entered service, they were among the largest ships built in Italy until the construction of the s. On 13 January 2012 at 21:45, ''Costa Concordia'' struck a rock in the Tyrrhenian Sea just off the eastern shore of Isola del Giglio. He is known for films with political and social themes, such as the political thriller '' Z'' (1969), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and ''Missing'' (1982), for which he won the Palme d'Or and an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Most of his films have been made in French; however, six of them were made in English.
