Cossva Anckarsvärd
Per Gustaf August ''Cossva'' Anckarsvärd (17 August 1865 – 25 September 1953) was a Swedish diplomat. Anckarsvärd had a long career in Swedish diplomacy, spanning over four decades. After starting as a notary at the Svea Court of Appeal in 1889, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming second secretary in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1896 and later serving as deputy director and head of its Consular Department in 1903. He held key positions as envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary in Constantinople, where he was an eyewitness to the Armenian genocide, and later in Warsaw, where he served until 1931. Throughout his career, Anckarsvärd also held ceremonial roles, such as chamberlain to the Royal Court and herald in the Order of the Seraphim. He retired in 1932. The Order of Osmanieh (, Modern ) was a civil and military decoration of the Ottoman Empire. History The order was created in January 1862 by Sultan Abdülaziz. With the obsolescence of the Nişan-i Iftikhar, this became the second highest order in the Empire, ranking below the Nişan-i Imtiyaz. It was awarded by the Sultan to Ottoman civil servants and military leaders for outstanding services to the state. Generally, it could not be awarded to women, but exceptions appear to have been made at the Sultan's discretion. The order was originally established in three classes. In 1867 the order was expanded to four classes, plus an augmented first class set with brilliants or diamonds (This does not include the awards with sabers, which were not separate classes, but did constitute separate awards). The Order of the White Rose of Finland (; ) is one of three official orders in Finland, along with the Order of the Cross of Liberty, and the Order of the Lion of Finland. The President of Finland is the Grand Master of all three orders. The orders are administered by boards consisting of a chancellor, a vice-chancellor and at least four members. The orders of the White Rose of Finland and the Lion of Finland have a joint board. History The Order of the White Rose of Finland was established by Gustaf Mannerheim in his capacity as regent (temporary head of state) on January 28, 1919. The Order of the Dannebrog () is a Denmark, Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V of Denmark, Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the Order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order.
