Cosette Simon
Cosette Renee "Cosy" Simon (born June 18, 1953Marquis Who's Who, LLC (1983). ''Who's Who of American Women, 1983-1984.'' ) is an American politician, business leader and philanthropist. As of June 2006, she was Vice President of Government and Industry Relations at insurance giant Swiss Re. Political career Simon's political contribution is most notable individually as the first female mayor of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Previously the comptroller of the city, she held the position of mayor for 11 days in 1985, after being appointed to replace fellow Democrat Winfield Moses who was forced to resign due to statutory criminal activity in his re-election campaign. Her short term ended after Moses won re-election in a special election. Simon also served as a former budget aide to Indiana Senator Evan Bayh. YWCA
The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) is a nonprofit organization with a focus on empowerment, leadership, and rights of women, young women, and girls in more than 100 countries. The World office is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland, and the nonprofit is headquartered in Washington, DC. Birch Evans Bayh III ( ; born December 26, 1955) is an American lawyer, lobbyist, and Democratic Party politician who served as a United States senator from Indiana from 1999 to 2011 and the 46th governor of Indiana from 1989 to 1997. Bayh was first elected to public office as the Secretary of State of Indiana in 1986. He held the position for two years before being elected Governor. Winfield Moses
Winfield "Win" C. Moses Jr. (born February 20, 1943) is a retired American politician from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Education Moses graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne in 1960. He then went on to Indiana University, where he graduated in 1964 with BA degrees in economics and philosophy and an MBA in 1966. He also received an honorary PhD in political science from the Indiana Institute of Technology in 1998. Political career Moses began his political career as a Fort Wayne city councilman, serving in this capacity from 1972 to 1979. Moses served as city council president in 1973 and 1979. He then was elected mayor, serving from 1980 to 1987. He was defeated in the 1987 election by Paul Helmke. Moses served as the state representative of Indiana House District 81, a position he held from 1992 until his 2012 defeat.
