Coronation Park (Sunyani, Ghana)
Coronation Park is a multi-use stadium in Sunyani, Ghana, capable of holding 5,000 people. It is used mostly for football matches, and is the home stadium of Bofoakwa Tano, Bechem Chelsea and Brong-Ahafo United. It was expanded and modernised by the npp government in 2008 during the cup of nations in Ghana although it was not one of the venues. Bofoakwa Tano
Bofoakwa Tano is a Ghanaian association football club based in Sunyani in the Bono Region. The club is a member of the First Division and play at Coronation Park. History Bofoakwa were first promoted to the top division in 1967. Despite finishing second-bottom in their first season, and bottom in their second season, they avoided relegation due to league restructuring, and in 1970 they managed a 6th-place finish. The 1972 season saw the club finish as runners-up to Asante Kotoko, and third place was achieved in 1974 and 1975, the club also winning the SWAG Cup in the latter season. The club returned to the second tier after finishing bottom in 1979. They were promoted back to the top flight in 1982, but were relegated again in 1985. Bechem Chelsea
Berekum United Football Club is a Ghanaian professional football club based in Berekum, Bono Region, previously known as Bechem Chelsea Football Club. They compete in the Ghanaian top-flight league called the First Capital Premier League. History The club was formed on 21 July 2004 in the then Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. In 2008, four years after the inception of the club during that period playing and rising in the lower leagues, it was promoted to the Ghana premier league after winning their zone of the Division One League. The board of directors heeded the advice by the Ghana Football Association to use the name Berekum Chelsea rather than the Bechem Chelsea. The club was later moved to Bechem and its name changed to Bechem Chelsea in conformity with its home base. Brong Ahafo United is a Ghanaian football Club, based in Sunyani, currently competing in the Ghana Premier League. It was established in 1960 to bring the people of Bono or Brong and Ahafo together through football. The club is also known as Apostles of power soccer. Their long time regional rival is Bofoakwa Tano, a club based in Sunyani as well.
