Cori Bartel
Corinne "Cori" Morris (born June 21, 1971 as Corinne Bartel) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She played lead for the Olympic silver medal-winning Cheryl Bernard rink from 2005 to 2011. Currently, she plays lead for Susan O'Connor, another member of that team. Morris grew up in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. In 1998, Morris played in Ontario, and played in the provincial Scott Tournament of Hearts, as an alternate player for the Cheryl McBain team. She would later move to Alberta. Morris joined Bernard in 2005 after playing for Heather Rankin. She has since been to the 2007 and 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts as a member of that team. At the 2009 Tournament of Hearts, Morris was presented with the Marj Mitchell Sportsmanship Award. Humboldt, Saskatchewan
Humboldt is a city in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located 113 km east of Saskatoon at the junction of Highway 5 and Highway 20. The city is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Humboldt No. 370. History Named after German explorer Alexander von Humboldt, Humboldt began as a telegraph station located on the Carlton Trail, a wagon route used in the early days of Western Canada as a route from Fort Garry (Winnipeg) to Fort Edmonton. Heather Rankin (curler)
Heather Rankin (born April 30, 1965) is a Canadian curler from Calgary. While living in Nova Scotia, she won the provincial junior championships in 1984 and would skip the Nova Scotia team at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 1990 she won the Nova Scotia provincial championships sending her to that year's Tournament of Hearts. She skipped the Nova Scotia team to a 9-2 record in her debut winning the all-star skip award, but lost the final to Ontario, skipped by Alison Goring. Rankin returned to the Tournament of Hearts once again in 1993, playing third for Colleen Jones. The team finished with a 6-5 record 1 game out of the playoffs. Rankin moved to Calgary c. 1997 to start a computer consulting business with her husband. Since the move, she tried unsuccessfully to win that province's championship with a runner up finish at the 2001 Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts. Dana Ferguson
Dana Ferguson (born February 25, 1987 in St. Albert, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She currently plays second on Team Kelsey Rocque. Career Ferguson was a member of the University of Alberta team that lost in the tie-breaker game of the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. She played third for the team, which was skipped by Jessica Mair. Also that season, Ferguson played third for Brenda Doroshuk's women's rink which went 0–3 at the 2010 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In 2011, Ferguson made the transition to the skip position after her new skip, Bobbie Sauder took some time off to have a baby. At the 2011 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, her rink made the playoffs, but lost in the quarter final to Heather Nedohin. Sean Morris (curler)
Sean Paul Morris (born September 10, 1983, in Marshfield, Massachusetts) is a professional lacrosse player with the Boston Cannons of the Major League Lacrosse, and the Boston Blazers in the National Lacrosse League. He founded Laxachusetts, Legacy Lacrosse, BostonLax.net and has recently launched TheLocker.com. Amateur career Morris played collegiate lacrosse at University of Massachusetts. Morris initially enrolled at Rutgers University, but transferred and played his four years of eligibility at UMass. Morris lead the Minuteman to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship game in 2006. He was awarded with back to back Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and named New England Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006. World Curling Federation
The World Curling Federation (WCF) is the world governing body for curling accreditation, with offices in Perth, Scotland. It was formed out of the International Curling Federation (ICF), when the push for Olympic Winter Sport status was made. The name was changed in 1990. The ICF was initially formed in 1966 as a committee of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in Perth after the success of the Scotch Cup series of world championships held between Canada and Scotland. At the outset, it comprised the associations of Scotland, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, and the United States. In the wake of its formation, it sanctioned the World Curling Championships.
