__NOTOC__ Cordoba University is a defunct Islamic university formerly located in Ashburn, Virginia, United States. The university was made up of the Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences (GSISS) and Cordoba School of Professional Studies. GSISS was part of a United States Department of Defense program for training Muslim military chaplains which produced the United States Marine Corps' first Muslim chaplain. Ashburn is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. At the 2010 United States Census, its population was 43,511, up from 3,393 twenty years earlier. It is northwest of Washington, D.C., and part of the Washington metropolitan area. Ashburn is a major hub for Internet traffic, due to its many data centers.
