Corbett Lyon
Corbett Marshall Lyon (born 13 August 1955) is an Australian architect, art patron and academic who lives and works in Melbourne. He is a founding director of Melbourne architectural firm Lyons. With partners Carey Lyon, Cameron Lyon (died 2018), Neil Appleton, Adrian Stanic and James Wilson he has designed many award-winning institutional and public buildings in Australia. Lyon is one of Australia's leading collectors and patrons of Australian contemporary art and since 1990 has developed the Lyon Collection with his wife Yueji. In 2003–2008 he designed and built the Lyon Housemuseum, a hybrid residence and art museum, which displays the Lyon Collection and makes it available for public viewing. Lyon is a professorial fellow and visiting professor in design at the University of Melbourne where he teaches and researches in the Melbourne School of Design. Lyon Housemuseum
The Lyon Housemuseum is a hybrid residence and contemporary art museum located on Cotham Road, Kew, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The Housemuseum displays the Lyon Collection of Australian contemporary art in a purpose designed building. The building is open to the public for pre-booked guided tours, school visits and other events on designated days each year. The Housemuseum also hosts a series of public talks and lectures on contemporary art, architecture, art history and museology which are open to the public. Perrott Lyon Mathieson was an Australian architecture firm based in Melbourne, Australia. Founded by Leslie M Perrott in 1914, the firm was responsible for numerous high-profile projects from the 1920s to the 1990s, and was associated with the Perrott and Lyon architectural families, spanning three generations and eight practitioners. Steven Izenour (July 16, 1940 in New Haven – August 21, 2001 in Vermont) was an American architect, urbanist and theorist. He is best known as co-author, with Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, of ''Learning from Las Vegas'', one of the most influential architectural theory books of the twentieth century. He was also a principal in the Philadelphia firm Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, where his father George Izenour, a theatre stage and lighting designer, taught at Yale University and later had a consulting firm. Richard Buckminster Fuller (; July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983) was an American architect, systems theorist, writer, designer, inventor, philosopher, and futurist. He styled his name as R. Edmund Norwood Bacon (May 2, 1910October 14, 2005) was an American urban planner, architect, educator, and author. During his tenure as the executive director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission from 1949 to 1970, his visions shaped today's Philadelphia, the city in which he was born, to the extent that he is sometimes described as "The Father of Modern Philadelphia".
