Corazones
''Corazones'' is the fourth studio album by the Chilean rock band Los Prisioneros, released in 1990. Produced by the Argentine Gustavo Santaolalla, in conjunction with Aníbal Kerpel on the EMI label, it was recorded, mixed and mastered in Los Angeles, California being the first album recorded outside of Chile. It was distributed overseas by the Capitol label. Background Before the production of the album, ''Corazones'', between July and August 1989, the group Los Prisioneros recorded at the Konstantinopla Studios owned by Carlos Cabezas Rocuant, "Beaucheff 1435". Whose name is due to the musician's home address Jorge González, where the songs on the album were composed the vast majority. Tren Al Sur
"Tren al Sur" (English: "Train to the South") is a song from the album ''Corazones'' by the Chilean rock/pop band Los Prisioneros, released as the main single on May 7, 1990. It was considered one of the 50 most important Latin pop songs by ''Rolling Stone'' and one of the most groundbreaking Hispanic songs by ''The Observer''. Its official video was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in 1990. Composition and recording During the recording of their 1990 album, ''Corazones'', the band's vocalist Jorge González dedicated himself to making different demos of more than 19 songs (of which only nine remained for the album), among them were "Por amarte" and "Tren al Sur". Aníbal Kerpel
Aníbal Kerpel is an Argentine producer, engineer an mixer. Member of the progressive rock band Crucis, he began a successful career as a producer after the split of the band, working with artists such as Los Prisioneros, Café Tacvba, Divididos, Molotov, Gustavo Santaolalla, Bersuit Vergarabat, Juanes and Árbol, among others. During his career he has received a Grammy Award and over ten Latin Grammy Awards. Career Kerpel was one of the members of the progressive rock band Crucis, playing the keyboards. The band released two studio albums, ''Crucis'' in 1976 and ''Los Delirios del Mariscal'' in 1977, before splitting in 1977. After the end of the band, Kerpel began working as producer for various artists, many times co-producing with Argentine musician Gustavo Santaolalla. Jorge González (musician)
Jorge Humberto González Ríos (born 6 December 1964) is a Chilean singer-songwriter, best known for being the leader, vocalist, writer and bassist of the band Los Prisioneros, considered by some to be the most popular rock band in the country. González recorded six studio albums with Los Prisioneros and five as a solo artist. He also formed the Latin electronic project ''Gonzalo Martínez'' with fellow musician Dandy Jack, which would become the precursor of the genre known as technocumbia, established with their first and only album released in 1997. It became a success in Europe's underground music circuit, mainly in Germany and United Kingdom. After his second period with Los Prisoneros, González formed with his third wife the duet "Los Updates" in 2007, only to disband in 2011 after an extensive Europe tour.
