Cope-Com
Cope-Com is a Denmark, Danish Amiga software developer founded in 1987 by Martin B. Pedersen and Torben B. Larsen. History Martin Pedersen started out in 1985 with an Amstrad computer in which he did a conversion game title called ''The Vikings (Cope-Com game), The Vikings''. At the same time Torben B. Hybris (video Game)
''Hybris'' is a vertically scrolling shooter for the Amiga home computer developed by Cope-Com and published by Discovery Software. Gameplay Players choose a player character commander from either Lovett or Maverick and begin play, controlling a spaceship which can be moved up and down the screen, as well as left and right. Airborne alien enemies and groundbased defensive weapons appear as the game scrolls upwards constantly, these can be destroyed by the player's weapon fire. More advanced weapons can be collected in the form of Power-up, power ups. ''Hybris'' has a weapon enhancement feature, called "expansion"; once a new weapon has been collected it can be temporarily upgraded by the player rotating the joystick or pressing "Enter" on the keyboard, each weapon can be enhanced three times before a new weapon is needed in order to enhance again. Battle Squadron
''Battle Squadron'' is a vertically scrolling shooter for the Amiga for one or two players. It is a sequel to '' Hybris''. A version for the Mega Drive was released in 1990. The game was later ported to iOS devices (2011), Android (2012) and in 2013 also to AmigaOS 4, Windows, OS X and MorphOS. Plot Taking place many years in the future in another star system, a century long war is waging between the Earth Defense Fleet and the Barrax Empire. Two Earth Defense Commanders, Lori Bergin and Barry Mayers, were returning from a research and destroy mission regarding the latest Barrax technologies on planet Urania, when suddenly a Barrax cruiser materialized behind them, brought their ship in and took the commanders hostage on planet Terrainia. Amiga
Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. This includes the Atari ST—released earlier the same year—as well as the Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. Based on the Motorola 68000 microprocessor, the Amiga differs from its contemporaries through the inclusion of custom hardware to accelerate graphics and sound, including sprite (computer graphics), sprites and a blitter, and a pre-emptive multitasking operating system called AmigaOS. Amstrad was a British electronics company, founded in 1968 by Alan Sugar at the age of 21. The name is a contraction of Alan Michael Sugar Trading. Shoot 'em ups (also known as shmups or STGs ) are a sub-genre of action games.
