Copacabana Palace (film)
Copacabana Palace is an Italian comedy film from 1962, directed by Steno, written by Luciano Vincenzoni, starring Walter Chiari, Mylène Demongeot and Franco Fabrizi. Music Antônio Carlos Jobim wrote "Samba do Avião" for this film, where it was performed by Jula De Palma and I 4 + 4 di Nora Orlandi. The movie was filmed in Rio de Janeiro and features cameo appearances by Jobim, João Gilberto and Os Cariocas. The first performance of the song was by Jobim and Os Cariocas in August 1962 at the Au Bon Gourmet restaurant in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, as it featured Jobim, João Gilberto, Vinícius de Moraes and Os Cariocas on stage together for the only time. Steno, the artistic name of Stefano Vanzina (19 January 1917 – 13 March 1988), was an Italian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Sylva Koscina (; born Silvija Košćina, ; 22 August 1933 – 26 December 1994) was a Yugoslav-born Italian actress, maybe best remembered for her role as Iole, the bride of Hercules ( Steve Reeves) in ''Hercules'' (1958) and ''Hercules Unchained'' (1960). Geórgia Quental (23 April 1939 – 19 November 2022) was a Brazilian actress and model. Early life Geórgia Quental was born in Porto Alegre, but her family moved to Rio de Janeiro when she was a baby. Adelina Doris Monteiro (23 October 1934 – 24 July 2023) was a Brazilian singer and actress. She was discovered In 1949 on the radio show ''Papel Carbono'' with Renato Murce, broadcast on national radio in Rio de Janeiro. Luiz Floriano Bonfá (17 October 1922 – 12 January 2001) was a Brazilian guitarist and composer. He was best known for the music he composed for the film ''Black Orpheus''. Biography Luiz Floriano Bonfá was born on October 17, 1922, in Rio de Janeiro. He began studying with Uruguayan classical guitarist Isaías Sávio at the age of 11. These weekly lessons entailed a long, harsh commute (on foot, plus two and half hours on train) from his family home in Santa Cruz, in the western rural outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, to the teacher's home in the hills of Santa Teresa. Given Bonfá's extraordinary dedication and talent for the guitar, Sávio excused the youngster's inability to pay for his lessons.
