Copa Rio Grande Do Norte
The Copa Rio Grande do Norte was the association football state cup of Rio Grande do Norte, organized by the Federação Norte-rio-grandense de Futebol (FNF), in order to decide one of the representatives of the state at the Copa do Brasil. It was abolished after 2007, when the Campeonato Potiguar began to be played in two rounds, being one of these rounds receiving the name of Copa RN (similar to the Taça Rio in the Campeonato Carioca). Campeonato Potiguar
The Campeonato Potiguar is the football league of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Format First Division First stage: standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. Second stage: home-and-away playoffs between the top 8 teams in the first stage. The winner of this stage is crowned the champion. The team last placed in the first stage is relegated to the second division. As in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year. Taça Rio, or Rio Trophy, is an annual Rio de Janeiro football tournament. It is the second stage competition of the Campeonato Carioca, the state football championship in Rio de Janeiro.
