The Copa Latina ( en, italic=yes, Latin Cup) was an international beach soccer Beach soccer, also known as beach football, sand football or beasal, is a variant of association football played on a beach or some form of sand. Four teams took part which were invitees from Latin Europe or Latin America (with the exception of 2003 participant Canada, which nevertheless has a substantial Latin sub-region). First played in Vitória, the competition rotated between several cities. After the knockout format of the inaugural tournament, all subsequent editions featured a round-robin format. Carlos Alberto Lisboa (born 5 February 1973), better known as Neném, is a retired Brazilian beach soccer player who played as a forward. He was a mainstay of the Brazilian national team from 1994 until 2005. Injury forced him into retirement in 2009.
