The Copa del Rey 2005-06 was the 70th edition of the Spanish basketball Cup. It was organized by the ACB and was disputed in Madrid in the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid between the 16th and 19 February. The winning team was TAU Cerámica. The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English: '' King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. During the Francoism, it was referred to as the ''Copa del Generalísimo de Baloncesto'', before becoming the ''Copa del Rey de Baloncesto'' in 1977. Roberto Dueñas Hernandez (born 1 November 1975) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. At a height of 7 ft 3 inches tall, he played at the center position. Professional career Dueñas was drafted with the last overall pick (#57), of the 1997 NBA draft, by the Chicago Bulls, but he never played in the NBA. Dueñas played professionally with FC Barcelona from 1996–2005, during which time he won a EuroLeague championship in the 2002–03 season. Felipe Reyes Cabanás (born March 16, 1980) is a Spanish former professional basketball player. He represented the senior Spain national team. Standing at a height of 2.04 m (6 ft 8 in) tall, and weighing 104 kg (229 lbs.), he plays at the power forward and center positions. Igor Rakočević ( sr-cyrl, Игор Ракочевић; born 29 March 1978) is a Serbian professional basketball executive and former player. At a height of 1.94 m (6'4 ") tall, he played at both the point guard and shooting guard positions, but he spent the vast majority of his career playing as a shooting guard. Robert Michael Archibald (29 March 1980 – 23 January 2020) was a Scottish professional basketball player. A power forward / center from the University of Illinois, he was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2002 NBA draft with the third pick of the second round (32nd overall).
