Cooroy Railway Station
Cooroy railway station is a heritage-listed railway station at 14 Myall Street, Cooroy, Shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. It is on the North Coast railway line serving the town of Cooroy. It was designed by the Office of the Chief Engineer of Queensland Rail and built in 1890 by Fitzwilliam Williams. It opened on 17 July 1891 with the opening of the line from Cooran. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 14 August 2008. Services Cooroy is serviced by two daily City network services in each direction. Cooroy is also served by long-distance Traveltrain services; the ''Spirit of Queensland'', ''Spirit of the Outback'' and the Bundaberg and Rockhamption ''Tilt Trains''. Cooroy is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. In the the locality of Cooroy had a population of 3,791 people. Geography Cooroy is inland from the northern Sunshine Coast hinterland about west of Noosa Heads. The Bruce Highway runs through the locality from south-east to north-west, bypassing the town. The Cooroy Noosa Road ( State Route 6) runs north through the town from the Bruce Highway, then turns east. History Cooroy's name came from Mount Cooroy, which was originally called Coorooey, from an Aboriginal word for possum, ''kurui''. The area was explored by timber-cutters as early as 1863. Cooroy's main industry developed from timber, having two operating sawmills, into dairying and fruit growing. In 1915, a butter factory opened. Noosa River
The Noosa River is a river situated in South East Queensland. The catchment starts in the Como Escarpment near Mount Elliott in the coastal Great Sandy National Park and meanders south through a lakes district around Tewantin. Lakes situated on the river include Lake Cooloola, Lake Como, Lake Cootharaba, Lake Cooroibah and Lake Weyba. The catchment is mostly covered by sand dunes and has two major tributaries—Kin Kin Creek and Teewah Creek. The Noosa River enters the Coral Sea between Noosa Heads and Noosa North Shore. Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland. Cooran is a rural hinterland town and locality in the Shire of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. In the the locality of Cooran had a population of 1,624 people. Geography Cooran is predominantly farming land with its urban centre in the north of the locality. Pinbarren Creek and Six Mile Creek flow from east to west through the northern part of the locality, while Coles Creek flows from east to west through the southern part of the locality. All the creeks flow into the Mary River. The Bruce Highway passes through the south-west corner of the locality but does not pass through the town. The major routes to the town are Traveston Road (from the north-west), Coles Creek Road from the south-west and Greenridge-Pinbarren Road from the east. Nambour Railway Station
Nambour railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Nambour in the Sunshine Coast Region. History On 16 December 1963, the present station building was opened by Minister for Transport Gordon Chalk. On 11 August 1988, a bus station was opened outside the station by Minister for Transport Ivan Gibbs. South of the station lie stabling sidings for electric multiple units. In 2016 a major upgrade to the station commenced. Services Nambour is the terminus for City network services from Brisbane with two services daily continuing to Gympie. Cairns Railway Station
Cairns railway station is a railway station in Cairns City, Queensland, Australia, serving the city of Cairns. The stations is the terminus of the North Coast line from Brisbane and the terminus for the Tablelands railway line to the Atherton Tableland. Two tourist railway services operate from here: the Kuranda Scenic Railway and the Savannahlander. The station has two platforms.
