Conway School District (Arkansas)
Conway School District (or Conway Public Schools) is a school district located in Conway, Arkansas, United States. Conway Public Schools serves the city of Conway, Arkansas, located in Faulkner County, Arkansas. With more than 10,000 students, Conway School District is the eighth largest in Arkansas. Starting August 20, 2012, the district will have 16 schools, including one high school, one junior high school, four middle schools, nine elementary schools and a preschool program. Conway High School has experienced success in interscholastic sports and activities with conference and state titles. In 2010, the Wampus Cat football team took home the 7A conference championship. Also, winning the Arkansas State Championship in 2011 was baseball, wrestling and girls' soccer. Conway HS has a strong band program, with many students making all state band. Bryce Wade Molder (born January 27, 1979) is a former American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. Early life Molder was born in Harrison, Arkansas and attended public school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Conway, Arkansas. He has Poland syndrome, as a result of which he was born with no left pectoral muscle, his left hand is smaller than his right and four fingers on his left hand were webbed at birth. He had two surgeries before the age of five to correct the webbing and other issues with his left hand. After starring with the Conway High School Golf team, Molder attended Georgia Tech on a golf scholarship and graduated with a degree in management. Marvin Delph (born September 15, 1956) is a retired African American basketball player, who experienced his greatest success at the college level. In high school, Delph led the Conway Wampus Cats to two state basketball championships, in 1973 and 1974. Known for his outside shooting and remarkable leaping ability, Delph was a member of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks NCAA Final Four team in 1978. Along with Sidney Moncrief and Ron Brewer, he was labeled as one of the "Triplets", a trio of Arkansas-born, similarly-sized players who led Arkansas basketball through a tremendous resurgence after years of mediocre play.
