Conventum Arena
Conventum Arena is a exhibition centre located in central Örebro, Sweden. The decision on a new exhibition hall in the city was taken around 2005 with construction beginning in January 2007. The arena was completed in March 2008 and was built between Örebro södra station, Scandic Grand Hotel, and Conventum Kongress. The latter, incidentally, the same owners as the Conventum Arena; namely Kongrexum AB, and Conventum. The idea is that these buildings, along with the Medborgarhuset conference centre, to be included in a central convention complex, with the stadium specialising in fairs, conferences, dinners, concerts, and festivals. The arena hosted the second-chance round of Melodifestivalen 2010, and the fourth semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2015 Melodifestivalen 2015 was the Swedish music competition that selected Sweden's 55th entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Örebro
Örebro ( , ) is the List of urban areas in Sweden by population, sixth-largest city in Sweden, the seat of Örebro Municipality, and capital of the Örebro County. The ''Conventum'' is a Latin text from around 1030 that narrates the relations between Duke William V of Aquitaine and Lord Hugh IV of Lusignan in the preceding twenty years. The exact nature of the text is a matter of scholarly disagreement. It has been seen as a record of a legal settlement and as a ''sui generis'' literary text presaging the ''chanson de geste''. It concerns Hugh's disputes over land and castles with various other barons of Aquitaine and William's failure to help him. The text is written from Hugh's point of view. Transmission Manuscripts The ''Conventum'' is preserved in three manuscripts, none original. In two manuscripts now in the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris, the ''Conventum'' is found alongside the ''Chronicle'' of Ademar of Chabannes. The earlier of these, Latin 5927, was probably made within two decades of the events described in the ''Conventum''. Medborgarhuset
Forsgrenska medborgarhuset or colloquially Medborgarhuset (Swedish for ''Citizen's Building'') is a civic hall in Stockholm, Sweden, located on the southern side of Medborgarplatsen, Södermalm. The complex contains a public bath, an auditorium, a local library, a gymnasium, a children's theatre, and several meeting-rooms. The building was thoroughly restored in 1981, and the bath updated in 1988–1989 with the addition of a winter garden. Built 1936–1939, the yellow brick building is the Neoclassical Functionalist design of Karl Martin Westerberg, even though the classical features of the tall gables facing the public square were significantly reduced in the final design. The architect thought to solve the complex programme by breaking up the volume into three parts to permit daylight to reach the core. Melodifestivalen 2010
Melodifestivalen 2010 was a Swedish song contest held between February and March 2010. It was the selection for the 50th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 49th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five heats were held in the Swedish cities of Örnsköldsvik, Sandviken, Gothenburg and Malmö, with Örebro hosting the final ''Andra Chansen'' (Second Chance) round. After the five heats 10 songs had qualified to the final of the contest, contested in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, at the Globe Arena. After the voting of 11 juries and a public televote had been revealed, the final winner was Anna Bergendahl with the pop ballad " This Is My Life", which received top marks from the public televote, and placing 2nd after the votes of the 11 juries. Melodifestivalen 2015 was the Swedish music competition that selected Sweden's 55th entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Måns Zelmerlöw won with the song "Heroes". The hosts for the show were Sanna Nielsen (winner of Melodifestivalen 2014) and comedian Robin Paulsson. For the fourteenth consecutive year, the competition consisted of four heats, a "Second Chance" round, and a final. However, the total number of competing entries was reduced from 32 to 28. The 28 competing entries were divided into four heats, with seven compositions in each. From each semifinal, the songs that earned first and second place went directly to the final, while the songs that placed third and fourth proceeded to the Second Chance round. The bottom three songs in each semifinal were eliminated from the competition.
