Concórdia Atlético Clube, usually known simply as Concórdia, is a Brazilian football club from Concórdia, Santa Catarina. History Founded on 2 March 2005, Concórdia first appeared in the top tier of the Campeonato Catarinense in 2011 after finishing second in the second tier of the previous year; the club, however, subsequently suffered relegation. Concórdia
Concórdia is a city in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. It was founded by colonizers of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, basically descendants of Italians and Germans, who immigrated to Brazil in the 19th century. It is located 480 km west of Florianópolis. The population is 75,167 (2020 est.) in an area of 799.88 km². The city is served by Olavo Cecco Rigon Airport. The municipality contains the Fritz Plaumann State Park, created in 2003. The city is also founding place to Sadia Sadia S.A. is a major Brazilian food producer that has been a subsidiary of BRF S.A. since 2009. It is among the world's leading producers of frozen foods, and is Brazil's main exporter of meat-based products. The Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, known as Campeonato Catarinense or simply Catarinense, is the main competition of association football from state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. History The Campeonato Catarinense top level has had several different names since it started. From its first edition, in 1924, to 1985, it was called just Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina Championship). 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
In 2012, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth division of the Brazilian League, was contested for the fourth time. Forty clubs competed, four of which eventually qualified for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C to be contested in 2013. Competition format The 40 teams were divided in eight groups of 5, playing in a double round-robin format. The two best ranked in each group at the end of 10 rounds qualified for the second stage, which was played in home-and-away system. Winners advanced to the third stage. These quarterfinal winners were promoted to the Série C 2013. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs.
