Santa Magdalena Jicotlán is a town and municipality in Oaxaca in southeastern Mexico and is the least populous municipality in Oaxaca. It is also the third least densely populated municipality in Oaxaca, not being as sparsely populated as Santa María Ixcatlán or Santa María Chimalapa. Santa María Ixcatlán
Santa María Ixcatlan is a town and municipality in Oaxaca in southeastern Mexico and is the second least densely populated municipality in Oaxaca behind Santa María Chimalapa. It is part of the Teotitlán District in the north of the Cañada Region. Geography The municipality has an area of 201.58 km2 at an elevation of 1,840 meters above sea level. Santa María Chimalapa is a town and municipality in Oaxaca in southeastern Mexico and the easternmost and largest municipality in Oaxaca, but is also the least densely populated municipality in Oaxaca. Coixtlahuaca District, Oaxaca
Coixtlahuaca District is located in the northeast of the Mixteca Region, Oaxaca, Mixteca Region of the State of Oaxaca, Mexico. As of 2005 the population was 9,018, down 2.8% from 2000. The region is generally from 2,000m to 3,000m high, mostly hilly or mountainous with small plains. Temperatures range from 3°C to 36°C. Much of the area has been deforestation, deforested and rainfall has decreased in recent years, affecting production of the standard crops of corn, wheat, beans and barley. Mixteca Region, Oaxaca
The Mixteca Region is a region in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, part of the broader La Mixteca area which covers parts of the states of Puebla, Guerrero and Oaxaca. The region includes the districts of Juxtlahuaca, Silacayoapam, Huajuapan, Coixtlahuaca, Teposcolula, Tlaxiaco and Nochixtlán. The largest cities are Huajuapan and Tlaxiaco.
